We’re celebrating National Donut Day!

“In 1917, Salvation Army’s Donut Lassies were sent to France to establish field bases near the front lines. In makeshift huts, thousands of soldiers would come to stock up on essential goods and grab a sweet treat baked by the Lassies. In 1938, the first-ever National Donut Day was celebrated in Chicago, and the history of The Salvation Army’s Donut Lassies was officially immortalized.

Both the presence of these courageous women and the donuts that tasted of home brought a light of hope and happiness to the battlefield — a much-needed morale boost for languishing soldiers. In fact, the Donut Lassies are also credited with popularizing the donut in the United States after the troops (commonly known as “doughboys”) came back from fighting in Europe.” The Salvation Army

Starting this weekend and up until October you can pick up our donut singles and six-packs from the farm stand freezer.

Planted Donuts is excited to be a part of the inauguration event at the OLD SAN J GALLERY & ATELIER, 2 Temple St, Nashua, NH on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 4PM to 8PM. This art+music+food event will be free to the public and will feature the art of our Curator Ismael Rosado who has a career of more than 20 years as an Impressionist Artist.

The mission of the new Art Gallery is to promote art as a communication vehicle in the community. Part of the mission is to provide clients with a new art space where they can appreciate the color and harmony that we will offer, as well as create a new platform for other artists where they can find a place to exhibit, get development and advice, professionalism, mentoring, art counseling, and the opportunity to connect and display your artwork.
