โ€œ'One Voice' resonates with me because weโ€™ve broken down into so many silos as a society. Itโ€™s a great reminder of what amazing things we can create and build when we collaborate and listen to each other." - Dan Benischek ๐Ÿ’•

"I had the opportunity a few years ago to visit Tanzania with a church delegation. When we sing the 'Ngokujabula!' movement of 'Jubilate Deo,' I can imagine myself surrounded by the people I met there, voices merging with ours." - Rachel Bennet ๐ŸŽถ

"Iโ€™ve been singing this piece since college and itโ€™s always a joy to see it come back. It feels nostalgic and new at the same time because every time is with a new group of people." - Jon Holsclaw ๐ŸŽถ

"'Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal' is a song Iโ€™ve performed (and heard performed) several times in my life. Every time, the piece is recognizable but different. A piece like this shows the flexibility of music to convey the spirit of the group or individual performing it while still convening its original meaning or message. Every performance of this piece has been memorable for me, and this one promises to be no different!" - Tristan Dudley ๐Ÿ’•

"The song 'Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal' has many special memories associated with it. We sang it as part of our Carroll College January 1994 European tour. A number of us sang it while waiting for a train to arrive. Spontaneous song always brought applause from nearby people, but the joy of the song was always primarily for us, the singers." - Bridget Smith ๐ŸŽผ

Join us for One Voice on May 4 at 7:30 PM in Waukesha and May 5 at 3 PM in New Berlin. Purchase advance tickets on our website at jubilatechorale.org/tickets.

"Music connects people (us) in a way nothing else does. Whether singing or listening, there is a shared experience, an embrace! I canโ€™t imagine my life without it." - Kay Richardson ๐ŸŽผ

โ€œ'One Voice' represents the chorale for me. Being in a group demands a merging of everyoneโ€™s voice so the whole is greater than just the sum of its parts." - Kristen Doepke-Redmond ๐ŸŽถ

As we come closer to our spring concert, our chorale members reflect on what the concept of "One Voice" means to them. "This piece reflects both the absolute joy of hearing your babyโ€™s heartbeat and the sudden awe that comes with the realization of the creation of a life." - Anonymous โค๏ธ

"The word 'hope' is not in this piece, but the Alleluias and the music just ring with hope, something we all need at this time and always." - Carolyn Masterson ๐ŸŽถ

"As a parent, this song moves me in so many waysโ€ฆthe beauty, anticipation, raw emotion of hearing your childโ€™s heartbeat for the first time. Zach did an amazing job of capturing all of it in 'Hope.'" - Mike ๐Ÿ’•

To me, this concert repertoire is the musical representation of Joy. You canโ€™t help but feel it whether you are singing or listening." - Jenine Cramer ๐ŸŽถ

"'One Voice' is a reminder of the importance of singing together, no matter how any voices--one, two, three, or thirty! Itโ€™s also just a beautiful song." - Anne Marie Vassalotti ๐ŸŽถ

"I love the gentle, legato joy that embodies this piece in contrast with the staccato exuberance of Dan Forestโ€™s Jubilate Deo. Both have so much energy but in different ways and I love that the chorale is amazing at performing both!" - Jill Larson ๐ŸŽต

That's right! We will be performing two renditions of Jubilate Deo arranged by two different composers. Hear the differences for yourself when you attend One Voice exactly one month from today! Purchase tickets for our performances on May 4 & 5 on our website at jubilatechorale.org/tickets.

"The first time I sang the Biebl version of Ave Maria, my soul was lifted to the heavens. Arranged for all four voices, there is a call-and-response effect that makes it even more joyous. Such a beautiful Christmas message!" - Brian S.

"Franz Biebl was born in Germany in 1906. Germany is a very important place in my heart and our local culture. He composed the Ave Maria, his best-known work, in the 1950s using the inspiration of both Ave Maria and the Angelus. The two prayers honor the mother of Jesus and also the sanctity and importance of women. I have said the words to the Angelus at 6, 12, and 6, as well as said and sung the words to the Hail Mary countless times. His modern, mid-century harmonies elevate a medieval sound to the era in which I first learned to sing and first learned that to sing is to pray." - Holly

We are a week away from Song in the Night! ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŒ™ Join us Saturday, December 2, at 7:30 PM in Brookfield or Sunday, December 3, at 3 PM in Wauwatosa. Get tickets at jubilatechorale.org/tickets or at the door.
