A whole lot of things have changed since I started this journey. I retired after 29 years in law enforcement, had triple bypass surgery and the long recovery from that, worked and lived through a massive flood that damaged most of my community, lost my father and a little sister, survived COVID not only the virus but all the craziness associated with it, moved from one church to another, saw my youngest son graduate high school and begin his college journey, observed my oldest son mature and become an awesome father, became a paw-paw to my favorite little boy in the whole world James, and lived through many other challenges and blessings. I have been supported and encouraged by friends, family especially my gorgeous, awesome wife and both the pastor at my previous church and my current one. Without these people I would have never had the tenacity to complete these courses. After quitting high school and a whole lot of life I never thought I would be a college graduate with a bachelors degree in anything. I can’t say it was easy or fun but well worth the effort. Thanks to God I found a way to stick with it and finish what I started. I can only hope to find some way to Glorify Him in what I have learned. Thank you to everyone that assisted. Looking forward to whatever I have next.

Does anyone know what is going on with Ben Haley or Redeemed Brothers home improvements. Paid him some money to do some work and he withdrew the money from my bank but he didn’t show up to do the work. Now he doesn’t answer phone calls. He deleted his page for his business and personal account. His wife even changed her profile and deleted that she is co-owner as well as all references to the business. Hate to think it is contractor fraud but getting concerned.

30 yards from a bow I made out of a pignut hickory tree Sean and I cut down in the backyard. Hope to get a chance on a real deer with it this season.

Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Maranath Graugnard Joins Lane OB/GYN

Maranath Graugnard, FNP-BC, has joined the staff of Lane OB/GYN, located at 6550 Main Street, Suite 2000, in Zachary. Maranath has more than 20 years of healthcare experience in reproductive health, sexual health, family planning, and prenatal care, as well as medical/surgical, cardiopulmonary, home health, and pediatric care.

Maranath earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, received her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, and completed a post-Master’s certificate at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University where she was named Outstanding Student of the Year. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

“As a former nurse at Lane, I’m thrilled to join the OB/GYN team because I believe it is an exceptional opportunity for me to work with such well-known and talented physicians,” says Maranath. “I look forward to providing safe, competent, and compassionate care to the women who rely on us in this region and developing relationships with my new patients and co-workers.”

Maranath and husband Brandon live in the Zachary area with their two children, Eliot and Paisley. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, and crocheting.

Newest project. Turkey fan, beard and spur mount. All of the wood is from the place I killed the turkey in Sonora, Tx. The white beads are made from antler sheds I picked up there also. It was a great trip except for all the rocks and cactus. You can’t walk or sit down comfortably.
