Check this out!!!
So this is the big announcement we’ve been waiting to share. Beginning in August 2024, supported by the public health organization Vital Strategies, Musicians for Overdose Prevention is launching our campaign to get naloxone to EVERY music venue and EVERY band in North Carolina. In 1 year. If you are a music venue and you need naloxone - contact us. If you are a band and you need naloxone - contact us. If you’re a band and you want 12 naloxone kits to share with other bands and venues in your scene - contact us. And don’t worry - if you’re outside of North Carolina we’ll still send you naloxone. We’re all doing this. Music looking after music.
How's everyone doing? We are working hard over here to make this service better. Feel free to add suggestions in the comments!
Love more!
Been in the ICU for a few days so I apologize for not being here. Diabetes sucks!!!
Hope you're all happy and healthy out there.
If it wasn't for friendships this organization would not exist. We are friends who started this for our friends that passed so we can keep the ones we have. Harm Reduction is love.. it's caring for others.. it's friendship on a whole other level.
**Stay Safe with Narcan and Fentanyl Testing Strips 🌟**
Harm reduction saves lives! If you or someone you know uses opioids, it’s crucial to know about Narcan (naloxone) and fentanyl testing strips. These tools can make a huge difference in preventing overdoses and keeping our community safe.
1. **Narcan (Naloxone):** This life-saving medication can reverse an opioid overdose in minutes. Carrying Narcan and knowing how to use it can mean the difference between life and death. Training is simple and available at many local health organizations.
2. **Fentanyl Testing Strips:** Fentanyl is a powerful opioid that can be mixed into other drugs, often without the user knowing. Testing strips let you check for the presence of fentanyl in your substances, helping to prevent accidental overdoses.
**Why it matters:**
- Overdoses are preventable with the right tools and knowledge.
- Using Narcan can save a life during an opioid overdose.
- Testing strips help you make informed decisions about substance use.
Let’s spread the word and ensure everyone knows how to access and use these resources. Together, we can reduce harm and protect our loved ones.
Stay safe, stay informed! ❤️

Who wants to share the biggest issue they felt they had to address in recovery? It's a hard and uncomfortable topic, but that's what we do!!!
Get comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Good tips! When you prepare for situations you take the power away from the "thing" and place it back within ourselves.

My response will be in the comments. Extra "cool points" for the ones who identify me.
This is our chapter page for that particular county but we'd love to continue to share when we've heard of a bad batch. Please share your experiences with us. You can send them anonymously if you choose.

Looking for "rent to own" resources or private landlords that will help felons find housing.. and GO!!!
North Carolinians are you aware of these bills waiting to be passed. These will do so much more harm than good in my opinion. Be aware! Share! Tell your Reps we don't need these things. If we don't stand up and tell "them" how we feel they'll just keep running us over with stigma and bias. I'm not okay with that.
HB 563, which would schedule tianeptine, xylazine and kratom and make exposing a minor to a controlled substance a felony
- SB625, which classifies a juvenile as neglected if the parent abuses alcohol or uses illegal substances and makes prenatal exposure to substances a reason for nonsecure custody of a baby.
- The House budget, which would appropriate much of the state's share of opioid settlement funds for abstinence-only treatment. (The Senate's proposed budget doesn't appropriate settlement funds.
