Protect AZ, 501(c)(3) was founded in response to the novel Coronavirus in Spring of 2020 out of the necessity to bring crucial medical supplies to our frontline personnel and the groups and organizations in our community that serve the most at risk. The normal supply lines weren’t working, so we decided we needed to get to work and protect our frontline workers. Through our relationships with PPE

Happy Mother’s Day! Today we are reflecting on the many brave, selfless, and strong mothers we have met along their journey to a better life for themselves and their children.
We are so grateful for our community partners that have supported us in our efforts to build a maternity ward in the Welcome Center. The soon-to-be and new mothers that stop at the Welcome Center now have a safe, comfortable space they can find respite.
As we continue to fight to improve maternal care, we must shed light in the unfortunate reality that many pregnant woman experience physical and mental stressors that lead to high-risk pregnancies and pre-term labor. On this Mother’s Day, we call on you to join our advocacy!
🚨What you are looking at is not trash.🚨These are two dumpsters overflowing with clothes and other belongings taken from asylum seekers once they surrender themselves at the US-Mexico border. Often when people get approached by border patrol, they must put their hands up and declare they are seeking asylum. After getting detained most of their belongings are thrown away, including important medications.
Thankfully, through our work in conjunction with the International Rescue Committee (), we are able to replace a lot of those medications that may have been thrown away in the process.
We’d like to give a shout out to our community partners, AZ-CA Humanitarian Coalition (), who are at the front lines daily. In addition to maintaining the border, they meet these asylees each day, providing them with basic necessities such as clean water and more!
❤️ Our hearts go out to the children who cross the border in order to seek a better life with their families. ❤️
Since our inception in March 2021, ProtectAZ Health has served over 17 newborns 👶🏻 and 7,560 children. We see some 👧🏽👦🏿 with complex medical needs that have had their medications discarded at the border. We also get many children with “run of the mill” childhood illness that require treatment.
These children undergo extreme amounts of trauma in the asylum seeking process that may continue to affect them into adulthood.
However, when they show up in clinic we can’t deny the happiness, excitement, and brightness they exude and bring to us🌈. These children are resilient and deserve to grow up in a place free of crime, oppression, and uncertainty. ✊🏽
We are thankful for our partners such as Mountain Park Health Center who help us to care for pregnant mothers and children.
Just another typical day at the office here at ProtectAZ Health!
Yesterday we treated around 200 asylum seekers with medical conditions including Covid 😷, fractured bones 🦴, urinary tract infections, 🦠 and infected skin wounds. We were able to do this with fewer than 10 medically trained staff members including a paramedic, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, and medical assistant! We couldn’t do what we do without this amazing crew! 🤩
🌎 Welcome to our Clinic! 🤗
This is the home base for ProtectAZ Health. Today we saw over 200 asylum seekers and provided services such as covid testing, medical evaluations, wound care, hypertensive emergency 🚨 management, and pediatric care.
