Brookings School District

It’s a bittersweet day at Hillcrest Elementary. Demolition began today. It is evident by the number of individuals who stopped to take a picture or share a story that this building is more than just a building. How incredibly fortunate we are to have a place to attribute so many amazing memories!

Flashback to one year ago. The landscape sure has changed.
Thank you to everyone who was able to visit Hillcrest and share memories! We had an incredible outpouring of support from individuals who were able to repurpose some of the items from Hillcrest for their own use. The smiles and reminiscing filled the halls.
Thank you doesn’t feel enough for the tasks the Hillcrest staff and volunteers completed over the past two days. We did it! We got everything moved from the current building to the new construction in under two days. We also set up the gym for our surplus sale.

What an incredible evening at Hillcrest! Over 200 people came together to play BINGO in the Hillcrest gym for the last time in our current facility. We have an outstanding PTA and staff who volunteered their time tonight. Amazing families who came to support the Hillcrest PTA and their mission.
