"It isn’t the mountains ahead that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe." - Muhammad Ali
And all too often that pebble shows up as a tiny imperceptible pattern of unintelligent thinking that doesn't serve your highest ambitions.
More resourcefulness. More creativity. More joy. More connection.
All possible a we remove those pesky pebbles.

Hey everyone... You wouldn't ask a toddler to run a marathon, would you?
Please... give yourself some grace when you are doing something for the first time.
Pivoting your career to a new industry, role, or geography?
Starting a new project?
Launching a new business?
Be kind to yourself. ✨
Volunteering for about three or four running events a year in the local community is deeply meaningful.
And it's super simple. I'm a Course Marshall. I wear an orange vest at a street corner, and I guide runners to make sure they don't run the wrong way.
It doesn’t solve world hunger or help the homeless. There are runners in the event, however, who are doing those kinds of things. So it matters to me to help them live out their full potential.
It's a way of giving back that aligns with my values and interests. It’s fun and it feels good.
And together we are changing the world for the better.

Who are three people I can contact to help move this forward?
Involving others strengthens your connection, establishes trust, and broadens your potential.
How often do you allow distractions and shiny objects to creep in when things start to get uncomfortable?
Creating greatness and achieving your full potential is about so much more than motivation. Check this out for a few clues to a more expansive approach. ✨

In February this year, I signed up for my fifth ever marathon. 26.2 miles in paradise slated for December 10th. The Honolulu Marathon.
And I committed to my running/surfing buddy Tracy from Maryland that we’ll run it together.
For some early 2023 conditioning, I ran various 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons. Full-on training mode started in July. Full of anticipation.
Then on September 4th, I get Covid for the third time. This time really kicks my butt. In the end, I was sidelined from training for nearly 2 months.
Given my fitness level, I downgraded to the Start-to-Park 10k sub-event.
If this were 2020, I would have gone into massive resistance and disappointment.
Why is this happening? This shouldn’t be happening. It’s not fair that I’m having to pay $30 to downgrade to a shorter distance.
And…guilt that Tracy will have to do the full 26.2 herself.
But this is 2023, and I’m celebrating an elevated awareness and integration that so much of my previous suffering was a resistance to “what is.”
So I decided to trust.
And as a result, December 10th was a magical day.
Congrats Tracy! You crushed it!! ✨
There came a point in my career where feelings of anxiety, stress, and overwhelm had created an energy-sapping reality that was spilling over into other areas of my life.
Something had to change.
I pressed pause and embarked on a deep exploration of exactly what I wanted in the next stage of my professional and personal life, not what others or the market said I should want.
I began reconnecting with my “Why”.
This time of expansion gave me a renewed sense of clarity and enabled me to unleash new levels of resourcefulness and creativity.
It made all the difference.
If you’re feeling stuck and unfulfilled, the answer likely isn’t more. More control, more tasks, more development.
It’s less.
Release your grip. Hang loose. Breathe. Let the tide guide you to your ultimate purpose.
You’re closer than you think.

Change.
Transformation.
These are a few of life’s constants. An elegant way through them is to learn to flow with them.
When you get into your own flow, a subtle calm and joy where things just seem to fall into place, you connect with your story. You connect with your higher self. And in doing so, you are able to operate from authenticity while experiencing ultimate fulfillment.
And that’s how you expand your impact.
If you’ve ever felt that you were born for adventure and destined for greatness, this is for you.
You see, I believe you were made for big beautiful things too.
But sometimes you lose sight of the “why” behind your vision or the clarity around how to actually create what you’ve imagined for yourself.
I would love to support you. Together, we will tune into your unique purpose, unleash your resourcefulness and creativity, and expand your impact on the world.

You’ve always followed your curiosity and been driven by the pursuit of exceptional experiences. This has taken you around the world. It’s allowed you to expand your executive impact.
As you seek your next professional breakthrough, do you sometimes feel like you aren’t progressing as fast as you should?
Take a deep breath.
Seek less. See more.
See the truth that you are precisely where you are supposed to be.

De-habituate yourself from the negative bias of the mind, and more naturally realize your full potential. As you remove the interference, success is natural... clarity is natural... creativity is natural... abundance is natural.

Achieving your full career and leadership potential requires consistent, determined effort. Will there be discomfort and failure along the way?
You bet.
And...
☝🏼Are you willing to do what needs to be done, despite the discomfort, knowing that the result is growth? Or would you rather settle for the long-term discomfort of an unfulfilled career and life?
✌🏼Are you taking failure personally? Or as potentially transformative information that you can apply later?
Thank you to Stella Mand, Gaj Ravichandra and Diane Yelland for inviting us in to facilitate a mindset and career session for INSEAD Career Development for Working Professionals.
Yesterday was such a delight spending 2 hours together with more than 100 high-impact professionals exploring how to remove the interference brought on by the negative bias of the mind.
Massive thanks to emlyon business school, Allison Edmonds, and Jane Barrett for yesterday's opportunity to share our and keynote with the emlyon alumni network.
The other day a coaching colleague and I were discussing how Learning can be a lynchpin puzzle piece in achieving one's highest potential... to realize those dreams that all too often remain in the stagnant realm of "Someday... ".
Hungarian-American academic and psychiatrist Thomas Szasz said, “Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to one’s self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily; and why older persons, especially if vain or important, cannot learn at all.”
Are you willing to risk ego injury to create the career, business, and life that you want?
Have you developed an adversarial relationship with your career?
To have the career you want, you have to love the career you have.
What can you be grateful for today?
Interesting datasets highlighted by GetFive and Vox Media that The Great Resignation is becoming a “great midlife crisis”. It caught our eye because it echos our recent experience. More and more senior business leaders and entrepreneurs are coming to us for support in reconnecting with their sense of meaning and purpose.
It's a real deal, not woo-woo.
