Hey everyone! A lot of you have been messaging asking for an update. While we would love to provide one, the simple fact is that we don't have a solid one right now. Things are still being worked on. When we do have one, you will know immediately due to us shouting from the rooftops.

With that said, we miss you too! And we want you to know that regardless of what happens down the line, the plans for the future of your hometown game store have not and will not change. A few bumps in the road just give us the opportunity to practice our patience and work out even more ideas and plans to create an experience that can't be had anywhere else!

We can't wait to see you all again but in the meantime, be kind to each other and stay nerdy fam.

Hey all! Quick update. As most of you figured out we had planned to reopen at our temporary location this coming weekend. However, we are going to be pushing that back due to circumstances beyond our control.
We will be opening soon. We will post when the date is set. Sometimes, all we can do is be patient and wait. :)

Once upon a time in 2015 we met Will’s WoW Guild at Get Some Game. I was a closeted nerd back then and did not play games. We all gathered at the room upstairs and had a great time. There were MTG cards on the table. I looked at Will and said, all right. Teach me to play.
An hour later and I was hooked.
We went down stairs and Mr. Leon was at the counter. I told him I was new to Magic and wanted to buy some cards/decks to start playing more.
He pulled out the 5 colored starter decks from long ago, looked me in the eyes and recited this almost oath-like speech. He asked me if I took those cards and learned to play, would I promise to then teach others who would be new to the game like I was then. I was grinning and of course said yes.
He gave me the decks and I felt pretty special at that point. I went digging through bulk and the players at GSG helped me pull cards for black and blue and white decks.

But that night is the night it all started. When we decided to open a game store, we went back to GSG and asked Mr. Leon how to do it. I was literally taking notes from him, on top of a 5000 count box for over an hour. He was so knowledgeable and generous with his knowledge and what’s more so, supportive and positive.

Mr. Leon thank you for making a goofy newbie feel special and for taking the time to help us. You will be deeply missed. 💚

Bringing you sad news from our Get Some Game family. Mr Leon was fatally injured last evening. Please remember him in your good thoughts and prayers.

Mr Leon relished in talking about card games, gundams, boardgames, anime, etc and sorting cards (not really the sorting of cards but he pretended to like that aspect of the job.)

After 12 years of running GSG, Leon really embraced the warmth everyone shared with us about their experiences at Get Some Game, their friend connections and their authentic selves.

Please continue to bring the joy into the world that Leon loved to experience and keep his memory alive with your stories, your memories and your love.

Hey everyone!!!!

It's been a minute. Giving an update for everyone. We are steady rolling. Not going to give too much information right now because things are still up in the air, but know that we are in the process of coming back, and better than ever!

A couple of updates.
No one is allowed in the shop. It is unsafe.
No one is allowed to take anything from the shop. That is theft.
No one should be on the property without permission. This is for everyone's safety.

We will be posting more updates soon. Thank you for everyone who has reached out to us.

Okay but fr…..which one of y’all decided to play burn?

All kidding aside, It’s a little bit chaotic today and I am trying to respond to everyone. If I haven’t please be patient with me and I promise you I will before the night is over.

Thank you to everyone for your love and support, your generosity, compassion, your help, kind words, and prayers.

The next steps are up in the air right now. We are following the process that we have been given. We ask at this time that no one go to the shop. The drive has glass and nails everywhere. The yard is full of debris and the inside is too unsafe to go into.

Aside from that, there are still people who have a job to do in figuring out what caused this. We do not want anything or anyone to impede their process. So we ask that you do not come to the shop. Driving by, walking by, is fine but please do not go into the yard, past the caution tape or in the drive.

We love you all and are grateful for you through this. 💚

The shop caught on fire last night (this morning), and though we haven't been by to see it in the daylight, from what I've been told, there's just the outer walls left.

Everything is on hold until further notice. D&D groups, you will be messaged prior to your respective days about using alternate locations, when/if available. Tho, this week, we may be taking a break and resuming next week when we have a steady hand on things.

It is nothing short of heartbreaking to watch something you have worked on and sacrificed so much for, be taken from you in just a few hours.

We want to thank all of the Fire Departments, Police and EMT's that were present last night and for everything they did.
No one was in the building, no one was injured, and the pets from next door were rescued and cared for.

Thank you for the community surrounding us and to all who were there to support us last night.

We will keep you posted on the next step. Whatever they may be.
