Elucidate Duo is proud to announce that our first commissioned piece “Buzz Buzz” by Benjamin Horne has been selected as a 2023 New Works Winner for the International Trumpet Guild. Over 100 works were submitted for this year’s competition and we were 1 of the 15 selected. We will be performing “Buzz Buzz” at ITG’s Annual Conference next spring in Minneapolis, MN! ✨🎺

Elucidate Duo is back with our 2nd GMEA All-State Virtual Workshop and Masterclass! They are designed for students wanting extra help preparing for All-State auditions. While the workshops will be covering flute and trumpet specifically, the masterclass is open to all students wanting feedback.

Elucidate Duo is excited to announce that we have been awarded first place in the Spring 2022 King's Peak International Music Competition in our category! We won using our recording of our arrangement of Pur ti miro from "L’incoronatione di Poppea" by Claudio Monteverdi for flute, trumpet, and piano featuring The link to the recording is below. The GMEA 2022 All-State Virtual Workshop has been rescheduled to allow for more students to participate. The new dates are Monday October 25th at 5-6:30 PM for the Workshop and Monday November 1st at 5-6:30 PM for the Masterclass. Private lessons can be scheduled with individual instructors at your convenience. The links for the sign-up form and payment are the same. Zoom links for both the workshop and masterclass will be sent out less than 24 hours before the events. More information can be found on our website. Thank you!

Elucidate Duo is offering a virtual GMEA All-State prep workshop for students wanting extra help preparing for All-State auditions. While the workshops will be covering flute and trumpet specifically, the masterclass is open to all students wanting feedback.
The Workshop will be Monday October 11th at 5-6:30pm and the Masterclass will be Monday October 18th at 5-6:30pm. The Zoom link will be emailed out to participants 24 hours before the workshop.
Students can contact us @gmail.com for more information. Registration and payment are due 24 hours before the workshop and 48 hours before the masterclass. Private lessons will be scheduled separately if selected. Payment can be done virtually or mailed in. Please feel free to share all this information with any student you think would be interested. Member Spotlight: Lorin Green 🎶

A native of Augusta GA, Lorin Green has studied music since the age of nine with concentrations in voice, violin, and flute. Ms. Green graduated from John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School located in Augusta, GA in 2016. She recently received her Bachelors in Flute Performance from Kennesaw State University. During her time at KSU, Ms. Green studied Flute with Mrs. Christina Smith of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Piccolo with Mrs. Kelly Bryant of the Atlanta Opera. Currently she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Flute Performance from the University of New Mexico where she studies with Valerie Potter of the New Mexico Symphony and is a Graduate Assistant and Fellow of the UNM School of Music. In 2021, Ms. Green was also offered a position with the United States Marine Regional Bands.

Member Spotlight: Michael Brown 🎺

A native of Macon, Georgia, Michael Shannon Brown Jr. is a trumpet performer and educator in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area. Michael recently graduated from Kennesaw State University with his Bachelors of Music in Trumpet Performance, where he studied with Dr. Douglas Lindsey and Mr. Michael Tiscione. Michael is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Trumpet Performance from Western Michigan University under the tutelage of Dr. Robert White and Professor Scott Thornburg, where he was awarded the Graduate Brass Quintet Assistantship.
