Getting credentialed also means you can get liability insurance. We get calls all the time from coaches who thought they were attending credentialed programs. Look carefully at any program you are considering.

Why does board certification matter?

Board-certification serves as a mark of quality assurance for employers, clients, and the public. It assures them that certified individuals have attained a certain level of competence and expertise in their respective areas.

Thank you NMC-HWC for attending. Your contribution and support of Veterans and our trauma-informed coach training, Veterans Talking To Veterans, highlights the importance and role coaches play in helping our veterans thrive.

Last month NBHWC was invited to speak at the graduation for the Veterans Talking to Veterans program in Wyoming.

This program was created by the founders of Mentor Agility, an NBHWC approved program. One of the initiatives of this program is to train Veterans to provide health & wellness coaching to other Veterans. The program has been very successful with data to show that they have saved numerous Veterans from su***de. This event included a dinner, graduation for Veterans who recently completed their training, speeches and an expo hall where NBHWC exhibited.

These graduates will now sit for the NBHWC Board Exam, many planning to use their GI Bill to pay for the exam too!

NBHWC was thrilled to be invited to this important and impactful event.

Mental health is not just the absence of mental illness. Well-being is a resource that people draw upon to realize their goals, satisfy their needs, and cope with stressors in order to live a long, productive, and fruitful life. When an individuals’ sense of well-being is high, they are more productive at work and feel more connected to their communities. Why is storytelling important in coaching?
Our proven methodology leverages storytelling to establish trust, uncover subconscious goal setting, and remove hidden barriers to success. By adopting a storytelling approach, supported by evidence-based practices, clients feel empowered to construct their own narrative and understand how they have been positively transformed by their traumatic experiences. Coaching through story not only boosts individual confidence, but also uncovers the emotional subconscious stories that hinder clients from reaching their full potential. This playful and imaginative coaching process nurtures clients' creativity and problem-solving abilities, fostering competence, knowledge acquisition, skill development, insight, and self-confidence.

Governor Mark Gordon's “Mental Health Roadmap” takes steps to advancing systemic behavioral health reform in Wyoming, identifying five pillars that are critical to improving outcomes for those who are battling mental health issues.
The five pillars are:

Access to Care-- Ensuring residents have access to the continuum of behavioral health services.
Affordability of Care-- Ensuring cost is not a barrier to accessing services in Wyoming.
Quality of Care-- Delivering the highest quality of service based on best practices and evidence-based research.
Innovation--Constantly thinking of ways to improve our system based on new research and information.
Su***de Prevention and Anti-Stigma efforts
Each pillar has priorities and key strategies to achieve those priorities.

Some of the priority strategies identified in the mental health roadmap incorporate work that is already underway. This includes Veterans Talking To Veterans, a trauma informed coaching certification by Mentor Agility.

VTTV is a direct derivative of our Trauma-Informed Coaching Certification and is the only coaching program to have ever received this award from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This award would not have been possible without all the dedicated work and passion of our VTTV Coaches across Wyoming and the support of Tim Sheppard. We look forward to expanding the program in 2024 to Idaho and multiple State Agencies in Wyoming.
