At these higher elevations, the air is thin and dry, making it inhospitable for many pests that attack grapevines, therefore eliminating the need for pesticides. These extreme growing conditions make for delicious wine that exhibits concentrated flavors and unique character.

Last weekend I had the honor to be among some of the top TOP leaders in Scout and Cellar! These women have grit, perseverance, determination, hearts of gold, and are all busy living life and doing all the “things” in the process. The busiest bees with full time jobs, full time moms, Drs, lawyers, etc all building their wine businesses in the crevices of time.

I ask myself, why are they successful? How do they find the time? And how can I too, be as successful as I grow in this business.

After getting to spend 4 days with them goal setting, sharing ideas, sharing our stories, learning about what makes each person tick, and hearing about failures and successes- it was clear that it’s really only about 1 thing... Mindset over Matter. And clearly that is not just for this business- it’s in any area of our lives...

What matters to you most? If it truly matters to you... don’t treat it as a hobby, treat it like a business!

Want to be a better Mom, Dad, spouse, daughter, son, employee, entrepreneur, chef, athlete, educator, friend...etc? Want to have a better relationship with Christ?

Do the WORK! Make time to reflect and work on yourself. Take baby steps. It can be the smallest of goals- Make those goals each week, month, quarter, year and write them down... then write down your roadblocks and pathways to overcome and achieve those goals... celebrate your successes, Learn from your failures, and just keep swimming! Do not give up! Giving up is the surest way to fail.

I had a much needed, phenomenal weekend and I’m still recovering mentally from all the incredible ideas, information, goal setting, etc! I’m motivated and inspired, and I just couldn’t help but share some nuggets of wisdom that might help you find your center and be inspired too. I needed that push... Maybe you do too?

I’m so lucky to have found a business that I am not only passionate about, but that will allow me to grow into a better version of myself along the way. What an incredible journey that’s not just about wine (although how fun is that?!) If you are like me.... you HATE headaches.. and despise hangovers! (ain't nobody got time fo dat!) I've loved wine, but like many of you... I'd buy my wine at the grocery store and pick my poison (literally), based on the cute labels! Little did I know the FDA approves over 250+ chemicals to be added to our mass produced wines... and we as end consumers will indulge in wonderful poisonous chemicals like glyphosate (which is what is used in ROUNDUP!) not to mention massive amounts of added sugar and sulfites... or animal bi-products (yes not all wine is vegan... did you know that?)
