I voted against this because we need to STOP looking at people based on the color of their skin and instead look at them based on the content of their character and who they are as a person

I voted NO on racist resolution because it's designed to divide people, it considers jobs based on disproportionality, and it totally eliminates the idea we are one human race created by God. This has no place in the City of Elyria

Elyria Council votes 8-1 to create diversity committee Councilman Maurice Corbin III, R– 3rd Ward was the sole dissenting vote. He questioned the existence of systemic racism, calling DEI a concept that appeals to emotion rather than reason.

I am proud to have assisted 248 residents with issues since being sworn in. I look forward to continuing my effort to make Elyria a great place to live, work and raise a family over the next two years.
