4 years ago today…

For those of you who don’t know, this barn door symbolizes the very beginning of ENC Farmhouse Furniture. Matthew and I had just moved into our new home as newlyweds with very little furniture. I always loved the rustic farmhouse style of furniture, but it was all so expensive!!

Matthew devoted his time during the winter of 2020 to building farmhouse furniture and filling our home with beautifully handcrafted pieces. He began watching other woodworkers on YouTube and reading articles to teach himself and perfect his craft. That December, he decided to build a few extra pieces of furniture and list them on Facebook Marketplace. We were excited to find out that other people loved the furniture and wanted to purchase it!

ENC Farmhouse took off from there and has been running ever since. We’ve come a long way and the business has survived and thrived throughout a military PCS move, Matthew’s time away for work, and lots of other changes. Today I am extra grateful for this big barn door that started it all! ❤️

We’ve been waiting for a nursery sign order like this and finally got to make one!! 👶🏼

This was a repeat customer who had previously ordered a birth stat announcement board and wanted to order a sign for above the crib!

This sign is about 30 inches. We used the laser engraver to cut out the names and then used our CNC machine to cut out the thicker wood for the base. The customer chose black and white paint for the name colors! Nail hanging hooks were added to the back.

A cute little teacher gift we made and shipped out yesterday! 📚✂️✏️📓

We used the CNC machine to cut out the big “M” and then used the laser engraver to cut out the school supplies and the name. A small burlap bow and rope hanger were added for the finishing touches!

Throwback to one of the first nursery name signs we made!

These signs became pretty popular after we posted this project and we are excited to share a new nursery sign design soon!

Fall is officially here and we couldn’t be happier!

We wanted to share this chic & rustic door hanger we created this weekend. The words are white vinyl and the pumpkins are wood cutouts that were hand painted. We added greenery and a faded chevron bow for the finishing touch!

Last week was a big milestone for our small business!

We completed our first ever bulk order! A military FRG (Family Readiness Group) reached out to us about making 100 engraved wood slice ornaments for their annual Christmas fundraiser.

We had a lot of fun working together on this order and hope that it opens doors in the future for more bulk orders! 😊

We recently made two of these custom signs for a friend’s wedding! She had planter boxes for decor that needed some extra personalization and reached out to us for help!

We used our CNC machine to cut out the initial and the last name. Her wedding colors were shades of pink so we used a light and hot pink combo for paint.

We love how these signs turned out and the best part - they can now be displayed in their new home! 💗

Wanted to share another military plaque for one of Matthew’s good friends headed to the West Coast this month to continue his career!

We built the frame and then used the CNC machine to create the 3D gator. Our laser engraver did the rest of the design on the wood and metal plaque.

We’ve really been enjoying these small, meaningful projects lately! 🇺🇸❤️

Excited to share the second furniture piece we built for our daughter!

To accompany her reading nook, Matthew built another toy organizer with shelves and a little seat on top! We ordered the baskets and seat cushions on Amazon and then he used those to figure out dimensions!

Our living room is now much more organized and the olive green paint adds a beautiful pop of color. No more toys and books everywhere!

Since my best friend is getting MARRIED this weekend, I wanted to share something I made just for her! She loves all things pink and Lilly Pulitzer, so of course I had to make a customized door hanger for the newlyweds with that theme in mind!!

I cannot wait to be a part of her special day tomorrow. Just missing Matthew who’s in Missouri for work training this weekend. ❤️

Any parent to a toddler knows your living room can be chaotic and stressful with toys everywhere and books strewn about. Our own living room was starting to look like that, so we thought this organizer would be the perfect solution!

Ashleigh is a mom friend of mine here in Virginia who is the founder/leader of a book club! Once a month, she has a book club meeting with other women/moms who love to read!

She wanted a plaque or sign to sit up at each meeting, and this is what we came up with!

Our kitty Frank had to photobomb this one. 😂

Our bathroom didn't have enough built in storage, so we added some! This ladder shelf provides shelving and storage without taking up a lot of space.

It features 5 levels of shelving and our "honey" stain to match the rest of our home. Definitely one of our favorite personal builds!
