I would like to wish everybody a happy and healthy holiday season, please stay safe and be prepared for this cold weather the next few days. Also I did go before our town council and mayor to ask to be considered for the vacant seat, if anybody has questions I am available to answer thank you.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas
I was caught by suprise by the Mayors decision to step down I wish him all the best,,, I am still in a position where I would love to serve the people of Surf City I have no special interests I am just a resident of our city and want what’s best for the people of our wonderful city.
I would like to encourage everybody to vote! Have your voice heard be a part of the process.
A quick FYI , when paying my water and trash bill today at City Hall I inquired about my utility deposit I made 4 years ago. I was told that I could request it back, So for those of you who have been paying your utility bills now for 24 months or longer you can get that money back that the city has been holding. I opted to have that put as a credit on my next bill.

I have noticed that people are not taking the mask mandate seriously, I do have mixed feelings on the subject my employer requires we wear one while at work and that is a good 10 hours sometimes. I would just ask that for the short period of time you are in establishments that you would wear the mask or be vigilant in keeping your 6 foot distance the sooner we have definite reductions in numbers the sooner we can return to whatever normal is.
Got my green waste ready to go for Monday!
I did do my re-entry and parking, the process I thought could have been a bit easier some of my less tech savvy friends might have issues. I had to assist my neighbor and the process will only allow an email address to be used once good thing I have another account I could use.
I just finished my parking and re-entry information, It is a bit more complicated than I was expecting. I know I will be helping some of my neighbors with this.
Just a few thoughts for the upcoming tourist season. I am very disturbed at the social media postings in regards to the paid parking on the island, I have seen many posts wishing for total destruction by Cat 5 hurricanes etc, unfortunately paid parking is happening the City is dedicating the funds for beach nourishment so we have a beach to go to. People say that nothing should have ever been built here and it should have stayed in it's natural state that could be said about everywhere. Last summers season was huge and we had many more visitors because of Covid and yes people need an escape I have lived here fulltime now for 3 years and it truly is a paradise and no I don't own the beach and it is open to all, I could go on more but please come, please shop our local businesses, please respect peoples private property.
I want to take a moment to thank Surf City Police, Fire and Pender EMS, for the care and compassion they provided at the passing of my neighbors wife.
New Year new opportunities, new challenges.
This year is almost over, many have had struggles, for 2021 hopefully some normality will return.
2020 Census, please if you have not filled your out do it ASAP vital funding and representation depends on the numbers.
I have not posted for a while, tourist season is winding down I do believe we had way more visitors than the last two years. The covid-19 has caused things to be different for many families.
I am looking forward to some return to normalcy getting back to meetings and the events of the city.
I know this has been a tough year for all so far, it has been frustrating and definitely testing all of us. I am thankful that both my wife and myself have been able to keep working, I have been made full time at Lowe's and hope to have a more stable schedule so I can resume attending Town meetings.
Sad, crazy funny and talented,,
Veteran comedian and 'Dick Van D**e Show,' 'Ocean's' star Carl Reiner dies at 98: reports Carl Reiner, the veteran comedian, actor and director known for starring in "The Dick Van D**e Show" and the "Ocean's" films, has died.
Hopefully as tourist season continues to ramp up please remember Covid-19 is still very real, please stay safe.
I think this needs to be a priority just one of the many places that flood in a moderate rain and become dangerous in a downpour. The DOT and City somehow need to get together on this! On the plus side we now have a moat
Look for me tonight local news WECT, Jesslyn is great at covering our City.
Good job, people remember lock it up and please don't leave firearm's in your car or truck
FYI heads up stay informed
It’s on the way secure loose items stay home, well we already are, only go out if you must!
Wishing everybody a Happy Easter
As this crisis continues I would hope people continue to social distance, and those of you who think this is a game start taking this seriously. I don't want us to be still talking about this in December. Please keep your children home, only have one family member do errands restrict your shopping to essentials only, you would be surprised to see how well you do with whats on hand.
As we go through this period of uncertainty we must stay vigilant in social distancing while out and about. Parents please be aware of your children and what they touch while in stores. Wash your hands don’t touch your face. Please keep in touch with your friends and family. Most of all if possible support our small businesses we are Surf City and we will come out on the other side stronger if we support our community.

Just glad to have sand and a plan for the future, Beach access is just a small annoyance.
I just attended a meeting at the visitor center on the beach access issue, we all just need to be patent and work together. I for one am just thankful for sand that helps to protect us. More information on this will be showing up on the town website I believe.
