We will open at 6:00 PM -7:45 AM daily thru mid March. Please spread the word. Want to volunteer? We used over 1200 hrs of volunteers last season. PLEASE SHARE! We are ready for season #3! If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness please join us on Nov 1st at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing. We will open our doors at 6:00 PM. The bedding is freshly washed, the pillows are fluffed, warm meals are waiting to be served to you. Come join us for shelter, food, and whatever else you need. Great news!! Hope and Harbor just received notice of a large grant that was approved! This is a huge step forward to making it possible to be open Nov-March this year! We're still waiting on the rest of our funding but the bulk has been received! We are so thankful! Please keep checking back for updates. We are working with the City of Red Wing to confirm a location. It's coming together! Hooray!!!

Hello Everyone,

Here's a brief update on Hope & Harbor for this season.

As with just about everything else, COVID has made huge changes in how Hope and Harbor will operate this year.

The plans for this year are to have a set location. This will allow the shelter to remain open 24/7. The plan is to operate Nov 1st-March 31st. I will release the location once everything is confirmed with changes that need to be done with current City codes & funds have been secured. The location will allow us to serve approximately 18 guests.

I have established a Board of Directors but could use a few more Board members if anyone is interested.

I have written a large grant for funding thru the State of MN and waiting for word if it's been approved. I have also submitted a smaller funding grant. Both grants are for programs directly affected by COVID so I am hopeful. Please pray they are approved.

With the 24/7 operation we will operate with paid staff (this the large grant), and rent a home as our location. I will still ask for volunteers as far as lunch and dinner each day.

I am working with Goodhue County to have a plan in place if a guest is exposed to COVID or becomes COVID positive as far as providing shelter for that guest.

I am also working on establishing a 501 c3 for non-profit status.

I'm thankful for this generous community & excited to move forward with the model for this season. I pray next year our world is back to a place where we can once again use the rotating church model as that works so well last year.

And here we are at the end of our season. We are grateful for all of our volunteers and the opportunity to do life with our guests these past few months. We will be hard at work this summer to prepare in hopes to increase our network and stay open for a longer period!

Grateful for the many youth who continue to bless those who will come through our doors!

Thank you everyone for doing an excellent job bringing in your food and hygiene items and cash! All together, Red Wing High School brought in 1,046 items and $476.91! This will be donated to our school food pantry and to Hope & Harbor. Great job RWHS!

HELP NEEDED!

We certainly appreciate all who have signed up to volunteer! We are still in need of a few overnight volunteers this week and next. If you are able to help, contact Liz Magill at [email protected]. Know that can take shifts with other overnight staff to nap during the night. Goes from 8pm-8am.

This week we have met some amazing people! It is an honor to be able to bless them during this season of life. We are about to start week 2 of the shelter and it will once again be located First Covenant Church.
