Happy Independence Day!

Come reach out to people in a place where the Bible was once alive and vibrant but is now mostly lost and forgotten. Engage, build relationships with, and then invite interested people to join us at outreach events as we share with them the Good News. We will spend time in tourist areas and local parks where engaging the locals and tourists is natural and expected. At the end of the week, we will be leading a team retreat for our missionary partners. Lastly, we will take a 4-day trip to historical places like Istanbul, Ephesus, Hierapolis, Laodicea, Sardis, and Pergamum. During this time, we will have the opportunity to visit and walk along the ruins where Paul and John preached and built the early church.
First meeting is June 16. For more info https://firstleesburg.org/international-mission-trips

Ladies, come and join us as we partner with missionary church planters, Eduardo and Gloria Buldain. The Buldains serve in an area known as La Matanza, home to over 1.7 million people where most don't know the truth of Jesus. They are working to plant a Bible-believing church in every neighborhood in La Matanza, and are asking for our help.

Our team of women will work alongside other believes in Argentina, doing door-to-door evangelism, engaging the community, directing children's activities and leading gatherings of women's Bible studies throughout the city as we encourage them in the work that they do. Won't you join us and be a blessing in the name of Jesus?

"What has the church here in Tanguat been learning from God’s Word lately? Paul has been teaching through a series of lessons on the family. He started by reviewing the character of God and the Gospel and then taught through some passages for husbands and wives, fathers, mothers, and children over several weeks. These passages touched on some biblical concepts that run counter to the culture, so it brought up many good questions from the church. It was the first time they heard many of those things and people are still thinking through them.

One example is that of marrying off their children.Young people here are usually pushed into a marriage that is advantageous for the clan. They are encouraged to marry someone with a lot of education or from a clan with a lot of land. We’ve observed that some young men have been fought over by the clans. There are also a lot of exchange marriages which means young people are expected to marry someone from a certain clan because their sibling or cousin of the opposite gender already married someone from that clan and the clans want population numbers to stay even. It is hard to explain, but that is the basic idea.

So now, parents and children are thinking about how to work within the culture, but also allow the young person to marry a Christian. And a bigger question in this young church, are there enough Christian young people to marry? And how can the families evaluate if the young men and women who go to church are most likely believers or are just church goers? Should they look to a church in a neighboring language group so that their son or daughter can marry a believer? These are all questions that families are beginning to wrestle through. This series laid a good foundation for us to be able to build off as we continue to teach through these topics in the coming years. People were very engaged with this series and asked a lot of good questions." The Swensons, Tanguat

‘Good things happen when God says go’ - IMB 09/02/2022

Read this article for an amazing story of how God is using people just like us to declare His glory among the nations!

‘Good things happen when God says go’ - IMB Neither John nor Serena Tail grew up as believers. “We routinely just lived for ourselves,” John explained. As a young person Serena often heard that church was full of hypocrites. But one day, as a married couple, a neighbor invited them to church. On the same day, they both made professions of...
