ANNOUNCING OUR 25TH OUTDOOR SEASON!
On Friday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello will join representatives of the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market in Monument Square to announce the commencement of the market’s 25th outdoor season.
The public is invited to attend.
During the brief ceremony, Mayor Mantello will proclaim Saturday May 4, 2024 to be “Opening Day of the Twenty-fifth Season of the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market" in Troy, NY.
TWFM President Melanie O'Malley and TWFM Manager Steve Ridler will speak briefly about the market and what to expect this season.
The first Troy Waterfront Farmers Market was held on May 20, 2000 with 20 vendors in a parking lot along the Hudson River. Today the market features more than 100 producer-only vendors and spans 6 city blocks on River Street and around Monument Square.
On the busiest days, as many as 15,000 people visit the market to shop for fresh local produce, meats, seafood, prepared foods and handmade crafts.
Just a reminder, we will be at Quarry Ridge Alpacas this coming weekend April 27th and 28th. WASHINGTON COUNTY FIBER TOUR is a fantastic event for the whole family!

This past week we have received more requests of people searching for food assistance. Did you know many of our local food pantries allow you to attend once a month, many provide pre-bagged items with minimal options. These are helpful options but with limitations. The need we are seeing every week is real, we see people struggling with housing expenses, with escalating prices and basic balancing of work/family/life. This is a population that often does not have a lot of family support and often need help with basic skills. We are helping so many week after week.
Please consider joining us to volunteer, just show up. If you purchase items or want to volunteer, please arrive at 35 State St. in Troy on 4/25/2024 at 4:30-5:45. We also can use assistance later in the evening for closing up, anyone who would like to help on the later shift, we sure could use a few people from 7:00-8:30 to assist with closing down. There is a job for EVERYONE! It takes over 75 volunteers each week to make our distributions occur and we appreciate each and every person who marks their calendars!!
Come get your tamales today at the Troy Atrium until 2. Try our new allium corunda with sauteed ramps, caramelized onions and roasted garlic in heirloom blue corn masa. We wrap it in a banana leaf, top it with cashew avocado crema, pickled veggies and ramp oil.
We will be outside on Sunday at the Schenectady Greenmarket ! We had to miss the winter market this year so we're really missing our Schenectady friends! We'll have a lot of old faves and we might be cooking up some new stuff too. Stop by and see what's happening!

Is that pecan pie filling in buttery sweet brown sugar masa? Why yes it is. We can't wait for you to try these on Saturday! They're vegan too.
We have a very special salsa macha this weekend. Be sure to get your jar of Mexico's crispy chile oil. This type of salsa comes from the state of Veracruz. It's delicious on everything but we love this one for veggies, soup and pb&j but also great on grilled meat and fish, charcuterie and ice cream.
We know you're going to love our habanero orange salsa macha. Stop by the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market on Saturday and get your jar.
contains nuts and peanuts
It's tamale prep day. Did you know we make our own chorizo? I grew up with my parents making chorizo with potatoes and eggs and my mom's (grammy's) homemade whole wheat flour tortillas most weekends. We take our chorizo and potatoes and stuff it into a pillowy garlic masa and top it with our red sauce and pico de gallo and sometimes even a farm fresh fried egg. Stop by the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market this Saturday to try this family favorite.
We packed up and headed to the Troy Farmers Market! Make sure you stop by and grab tamales to warm you up.
Due to an emergency, we will not be attending the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market 1/6. If you would like to order tamales for later in the week, please message us.
