Thanks to a lot of hard work by a lot of great Lions and Legislators, on April 28, 2023, Governor Bill Lee signed the House and Senate Bills that had become Section 250 into Tennessee Law. It authorized the creation, pre-sale, and production of a Tennessee Specialty License Platr to benefit Middle Tennessee Lions Sight Service Inc. Called "Crusade Against Darkness."
The MTSU Campus Lions Club was granted permission by MTLSS to spearhead an effort to create a license plate that would generate a long-term revenue stream for MTLSS. The charitable funds generated from the sale of the license plates will go to MTLSS to meet the charge Helen Keller issued Lions Clubs in her 1925 speech at its International Convention in Cedar Point, Ohio, USA, on June 30, 1925.
To learn more, stay tuned for additional posts throughout the upcoming year. There is a picture of the license plate and also how to reserve your Crusade Against Darness license plate to help us reach our goal.

The middle of each month we will share a Fun Eye Fact. Here’s your first!
