Laurel Creek Farms

Laurel Creek Farms is a golden retriever breeder in SC. Our love of goldens began 18 years ago with our first golden, Amber.

We purchased a male (Asher) just 6 months later and have dreamed of breeding and raising goldens ever since.

Excited to announce our next golden litter! If you’re on our waiting list, please confirm and we will send info regarding deposits. See comments for photos of puppies from their first litter (that I “borrowed” from their social media😉). This was such a gorgeous combination with the most amazing temperaments!

Happy 1st Birthday to Louie and Moose!!🥳🥳

3 successful breedings for Bailey. Ultrasound will be 7/12 to confirm pregnancy. Puppies would be due around 8/18!

08/06/2024

Bailey is in heat as of today so we’ll be breeding her in about 8-9 days. If all goes well we should expect puppies around August 17. If you’re on our waiting list, we’ll be in touch once breeding takes place and again when pregnancy is confirmed.

Camo found his forever home today! Congrats to the Cribb family! We know he’ll be loved and spoiled!

These are good reminders for all of us, especially those in the thick of puppy raising. It’s hard to watch them every second but puppies eat EVERYTHING and so many things in our houses and yard can be super dangerous. Luckily our yard is pretty safe since the dogs dug up all of our plants😜

Sweet Camo is still available and through no fault of his own, little Boots is also available again. He’s an awesome boy, his owners just realized they couldn’t invest the time he needs right now.

Both of these sweet boys will do best in a home where someone is home most of the time and/or they have another dog and a backyard to play in.

I’ve been slacking big time getting pics of all the boykins and their new families! Congrats to:
•the Duncan family (Sassy, formerly Benelli/light pink)
•the Oshields family (Beretta/mint)
•MaKenna (Stetson, formerly Drake/green)
•the Jones family (Bella/Cabella, dark purple-kept her name😉)
•the Westmoreland family (Tito, formerly Gauge/red)
•the Barnes family (Ralph, formerly Boots/yellow).

Not pictured (sorry!!), the Lollis family (Maggie, formerly Remi/hot pink), and the Tiller family (Elroy, formerly Bullet/dark blue).

Previously shared: light blue to the Walker family and orange to the Joned family. Light purple/Scout is staid with us and her name is Drew. Sweet Camo/gray is still looking for his forever home🩶

Thanks to all of these wonderful families. We know these puppies will be so loved and make us proud. This has seriously been one of the sweetest litters we’ve ever had.

Stay tuned for more golden and Boykin litters this summer and fall.

Price reduced. These are the sweetest boys! So many have asked to be added to the list for the next litter but we can’t plan another litter till these are gone🤪They’re the best dogs…once you have one you’ll understand❤️

More socializing for these sweet babies. They ran hard, stole a few golf balls and made lots of new friends😊

The puppies are are 10.5 weeks old now, crate trained and sleeping through the night. They’re 95% house broken…we have maybe one or two accidents a day between 5 puppies. They know sit and down and we’re practicing leash walking. These are amazing dogs and should be a very easy puppy experience given the fact that they’re most potty trained and sleeping through the night! They love the crates! No whining at all. They slept 8 hours last night and take naps in the crates as well. This weekend they’ll be exposed to gun sounds to desensitize them and help prepare if they go on to be hunting dogs. If you know anything about Boykin lines in SC, Bella (mom) comes from the line of St. Thomas Chief, Master Hunt Title, so there are excellent genes if you’re looking for a hunting dog.

Some people are hesitant to take male puppies because they believe they’re more hyper or harder to train, or that they constantly mark their territory. This is not true at all. These 4 males are some of the sweetest, most laid back puppies I’ve ever raised. They’re very eager to please, very affectionate. We’ve owned 3 male dogs and have never had issues with marking inside, and 2 of ours are intact.

We are planning another litter later this year for those who’ve requested a female, but don’t pass up these awesome boys. We’ve done a lot of the hard work already😜

One last note-they’re used to being with people and other dogs 24/7 as I work from home. Applications are required before we approve families to purchase puppies. That being said and given their age, they will have a much harder time adjusting in a home where they’re alone all day without people or other dogs. Day care is a great option in these situations.

Here’s the link to the application:

To save the trouble of answering so many messages about price, these are the 4 males left and they’re $16OO each. If you’ve done any research on Boykins, especially in SC where they’re the state dog, you know that’s a steal. Many are going for twice that. These are full blooded Boykin Spaniels, parents come from great hunting lines. Parents are health tested. Puppies have been raised inside in our home and exposed to plenty of sights, sounds, adults, kids and our other dogs. They’ve had 2 rounds of shots, are mostly house broken and are learning basic commands. They’re registered with Boykin Spaniel Society. They’ll be 10 weeks old on Monday so they’re ready to go now. Excellent, laid back temperaments and very eager to please. Will be easy to train and make great hunting dogs or family pets.

The old man in the pack is 9 today! Happy Birthday to Cane! He says it would be a much happier celebration if all these puppies were gone😝In every litter they always want to be buddies with Cane!❤️

Photos from Laurel Creek Farms's post 11/04/2024

It doesn’t take much to train puppies. I used treats and told them to sit, a handful of times since Sunday. Today they’re automatically sitting when they want my attention, whether food is involved or not. It’s so fun to watch them learn and be so eager to please!

Photos from Laurel Creek Farms's post 10/04/2024

These 3 boys are still available. Yellow, gray and blue collars. They’ve had 2 rounds of shots and were 9 weeks old on Monday. We’ve started basic training commands and they’re mostly house broken. They are all absolutely precious and such good dogs. They’re sleeping through the night and they love to cuddle! I would keep them all in a heartbeat if I could! They’ll be 30-40 lbs full grown.

Photos from Laurel Creek Farms's post 07/04/2024

We have some friends thinking about taking the other boys, but sweet Camo is still available. He’s super sweet and snuggly, and has gorgeous face. He’s almost potty trained, knows “sit” and will get his 2nd round of shots tomorrow. He’s an awesome dog!

Our first 2 Hershey kisses have gone home and I love that both were surprises! The Walker family surprised their kids with Rifle for Easter, and Cindy Jones surprised her husband (who has always wanted a Boykin) with Trigger. I know these puppies and their families will have a Happy Easter!

28/03/2024

It’s always bittersweet to fill out all their paperwork and put together their puppy packs❤️

Enjoying some sunshine!☀️Can’t believe they start leaving us on Friday! Even though they’ve chewed through my phone charger, squeezed through every barricade I’ve set up inside, caused me to trip so many times I’ve lost count, and left teeth marks in my good flip flops, they’ve brought so much joy and fun. It’s been a blast to raise our first litter of Boykins. They are so smart and so affectionate!! Even with 12, they were still an “easy” litter. Almost no whining in their pen (except when they wake up at 4 am and I don’t let them go outside😜), sleeping well, and potty training well. They will make awesome companions for their new families!

All females are spoken for, and these 4 males are still available. Dark blue and red are very laid back. Gray and yellow have a little more energy but are not super high strung. They’ll have great drive for hunting.

Gray (Camo)
Red (Gauge)
Yellow (Boots)

Update: Miss Beretta (mint) is now spoken for💜

These are the available puppies. See captions for description.

The puppies had a big day today playing at the golf course and getting their 6-week shots at the vet. Everyone checked out great! Light pink is still the smallest at 4.6 lbs, and dark blue is still the biggest at 7.02 lbs. Most all weigh between 4.5-6.5 lbs.

Little hot pink (Re*****on) was born without a tail. The vet says she is fine (it shouldn’t be noticeable once her adult coat comes in), but she struggles a little to clean herself after pottying and will need a home with some patience and extra care. She may grow out of those struggles as she gets older but otherwise she’s perfect, cute as a button and such a sweet temperament! She will be discounted but please reach out if interested.

We have 5 males still available (gray, red, yellow, green and dark blue) and 4 females (2-3 are pending though).
