We are excited to share this episode of Playing With Food on KCBX which features the local farm to school program. The segment hosted by Father Ian Delinger features our Food Services Director Lauren Thomas along with her lead food service assistant Susie Palacios.

Good Food Goes From Farm-to-School Local farmers are giving school lunches a complete makeover thanks to a relatively new program of farm-to-school. Local farmers stop by to drop off freshly-picked, locally-grown fruits and vegetables, freshly-baked bread, kumquats and more!

San Miguel Joint Union School District is looking for both a part-time and a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist. We will offer qualified applicants all years of experience on the salary schedule. Our pay range is from $83,946 to $128,108 with 15 years of experience for a 184-day school year for a caseload not to exceed 40. Part-time retirees are also encouraged to apply. We will pay full STRS limits for a pro-rated caseload. The STRS cap for 24/25 is going up to $74,733. Please see our Edjoin page for links to apply:

We are extremely proud of being selected as the San Luis Obispo County Safety Committee of the Year! Our committee is led by our Director of Facilities Kevin Lee and comprises members from both of our sites. The Safety Committees work diligently throughout the year to increase workplace safety and minimize accidents. Thank you to SIPE for selecting SMJUSD for the 23/24 school year!

This Thursday, Lillian Larsen will be hosting its annual Veterans’ Day celebration. All veterans and active duty service people are invited to attend.

We are so proud of Lauren Thomas, our Food Services Director, who is receiving a California Food for California Kids® Leadership and Innovation Award along with eight other leaders from across the state, for her creativity and initiative in school nutrition and farm to school programs. SMJUSD does not have a candidate running for election in November for Trustee Area 2. Trustee Area 2 is part of Heritage Ranch. If you are looking for a way to support students and give back to the community, and you live in Trustee Area 2, please consider applying to be appointed. San Miguel Schools has three seats up for election in 2022. Please consider running to help make a difference in our students' lives. Trustee Area 2 is a new area with no current incumbent.
