Scenic River Industries (Dent County Sheltered Workshop) is an asset to our community. If you’ve never had the opportunity to see all the great work they do, you should check it out. I enjoyed visiting with friends, playing co****le, and supporting their business this evening.

Small Business Owners, you have my attention. I am one of you. I know owning a business takes hard work that usually goes unnoticed. Long hours, little sleep, and in a year full of unknowns - a strength beyond measure to keep pushing forward. I appreciate you. You are the backbone of this community and I want you to know you can contact me anytime. I want to hear from you. I know that you have great ideas and you want to see Dent County flourish just as I do. Let’s brainstorm and grow together.

Every good job applicant describes why they should be selected for the position of interest during their interview. The District 1 Commissioner position should be no different. You, the people of Dent County, are hiring the best candidate for the job. Over the next few days, I will answer some interview questions (in case you missed my answers in the Salem News last week).

Why should you be elected?

My first 3 goals are as follows:

Number 1 – improving the condition of our county roads. I’ve run a successful excavation business for 13 years and have built and maintained many miles of roads and driveways in the county. I have a vast experience and knowledge about road construction and maintenance.

Number 2 – is to provide the citizens of Dent County with simple, open door communication. I love to talk and meet new people and I will always be available to hear concerns and discuss new ideas with community members. The current commission meets on Monday and Thursday mornings which makes it difficult for many working residents to attend meetings and voice their concerns. I would like to schedule a meeting at least once monthly in the evenings, to be more accessible. My number is 573-247-2788, feel free to call me anytime.

Number 3 – seeking opportunities for economic boost. I know I’m not the only person that is constantly thinking about new developments, new businesses, and new ways to bring in money. Dent County is full of entrepreneurs, thinkers, and doers and I am looking forward to hearing all of your suggestions. It’s a great place to live and I hope to work closely with the county’s economic developer to help our local businesses find opportunities to grow, and support new businesses that will bring jobs to the area.

We had a great visit with Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe and his family this morning. Thank you Mike, for coming out to the Dent County expo and for your support of 4-H and FFA.

We love custard and young entrepreneurs but most of all, we love supporting new businesses in Dent County! Thanks Charlee Sue Jadwin!

Since it’s Father’s Day and all, I’m hacking the campaign page 😊

I couldn’t find a fancy picture that would describe what he means to us, but this candid shot is a great example of what I have to say. He works hard, he leads by example, and he has the patience of Job. He loves this community and teaches his boys the dedication it takes to secure a bright future. If I could describe what I love most about him in one word, it would be “determination”. When he sets his mind to something, he makes it happen...and I am so thankful Bryce and Stetson have him to look up to. He sets the bar high. Wes, thank you for all you do for us and what I already know you’ll do for this great county we call home. Happy Father’s Day!

Be sure to stop by and grab a Your World Today! You can find them at various local businesses through Salem and Bunker. A huge shoutout to our friends at KSMO Radio for putting together this free resource for our community!

I was happy to stop in the Salem Senior Pancake Breakfast this morning. I wish the best of luck to all graduating seniors! Congratulations Emma Southards on winning your gas card!

“I voted” stickers replaced with pens...but we voted, did you?

There are many important positions on today’s ballots. Now more than ever we need strong leaders in our city and on our locals boards. I have proudly served on North Wood R-IVs school board several years. A special thank you to all of those that are willing to step up and work together toward the betterment of our community.

24/05/2020

Wishing you all a safe, happy, and healthy Memorial Day Weekend! 🇺🇸

12/05/2020

I spent the day making my rounds through Dent County maintaining the land around my campaign signs— Just as I would maintain county roads as your District One Commissioner. No matter the weather, the job still must get done. Thanks Bryce for heading out and working hard with me today!

10/05/2020

Mother’s Day, the day we honor the glue that hold our family together. My wife Kendra is the most amazing mother to our two boys, a fearless leader, farmer, nurse, and my best friend. I hope you all have had a peaceful day spent with your loved ones. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mamas out there!

Throughout the duration of the Stay at Home Missouri order, my plans to go door to door and visit with the constituents of Dent County’s First district, were changed. I have put those plans on hold, but I kept working on ways to serve you better. My expertise in road construction and maintenance will improve the conditions of our county roads, but there’s more to the position than roads and I will not overlook the other responsibilities. Just like in my business, I cannot fix a driveway but overlook the expenses and revenues, or forget about the truck maintenance. The business would surely fail. So, over the last few weeks, I’ve been studying the job responsibilities of each county elected position holder. Having an understanding of each of those positions will enhance my abilities as a decision maker and lead me to the subject matter experts, when an issue arises. Learning about other’s job duties is critical to understanding county business.

One thing I’ve learned, and have witnessed as my wife has played an important role in leading Dent County’s COVID-19 response, is that it’s takes a group of individuals with good relationships (developed before problems arise) to conduct smooth, successful decision making. I will continue to study and educate myself on all the nuts and bolts of county business before the election and will be well prepared to begin serving you January 1st, 2021. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at 573-247-2788 to visit anytime.

13/04/2020

With the concerns of COVID-19, I have to hold off on going door to door like I had originally planned. I would still love to talk with you sooner than later. Please reach out to me at (573) 247-2788, or shoot me a message here on Facebook. Also, feel free to give me a call if you’d like a Wes Mobray for District One Commissioner sign. I will make deliveries from a safe distance. My continued thoughts and prayers are with the ones who are battling during this taxing time. We will push through.

“And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We may not be able to celebrate with a traditional Easter gathering today but the message hasn’t changed. I pray this day brings you a renewed hope and peace in these troubled times. Happy Resurrection Day to each of you from my family to yours.

My wife and I were blessed to have been born and raised in Dent County. I’ve always felt safe, and protected by our local law enforcement agencies. There was no doubt that we wanted to raise our two boys in the same community we all call home. I was happy to provide lunch, and support local business.

Dent County Sheriffs office and all the staff would like to thank Wes Mobray for our Pizza Inn lunch.

02/04/2020

Our local law enforcement works around the clock to keep the citizens of Salem, and all of Dent County safe. I could never thank you all enough. Stay safe!

We as a department are truly blessed by the citizens we serve. Shout out to Wes Mobray for taking care of us for lunch today. In these trying times it is a great feeling to know that our citizens take pride in caring for the officers that work for our community.

22/03/2020

Times like we are seeing now, make us, as Americans, realize how truly blessed we are. Small things such as a stocked grocery store, dining inside a restaurant, and public schools being open... Now is the time we rally together and come back stronger than before.

My extended thoughts, prayers, and thanks are with all the healthcare workers, teachers who are preparing virtual lessons, grocery store employees who are working around the clock, delivery drivers, law enforcement, our fearless leader, President Trump for making tough decisions during crucial times, small business owners who are continuing to serve the community yet helping to flatten the curve, and all the individuals working to keep us safe. Dent County, we will get through this.

If there’s anything I can do to help any of you, please reach out. I pray for continued guidance, strength, health, and love throughout the upcoming months.

-Wes Mobray & Family

After last nights rainfall, and today’s sunshine, I have been reflecting on the amount of culverts and roads I have installed and built. With my experience from owning Mobray Excavation, I have the knowledge to keep County Roads smooth, and in shape, even through treacherous weather.
