Happy National Hummingbird Day! Hummingbirds are the smallest migratory bird and must eat half their weight each day in small insects and nectar - with 90 wingbeats per second they need a lot of energy from food.

You can support hummingbirds by:
1. Filling your yard with native, flowering plants. We'll post a list of Oklahoma-specific plants tomorrow (fall is a great time to plant some perennials) as we continue to celebrate hummingbirds.
2. Eliminating pesticides - they wipe out the little insects hummingbirds need.
3. Providing water - hummingbirds particularly like dripping or misting sources of water.
4. Hanging nectar feeders throughout your yard - space them at least 15 feet apart, change the nectar frequently (at least 3 times a week when it's hot), and avoid products that include red dyes.

AND THEN enjoy these magical, teeny, mighty birds in your yard before they migrate for the winter!

This is from a group I am in & something I can assure you this bakery will not do. If you are being charged for roses but only asking for rosette swirls, you need a new baker.
A swirl is simply a swirl with a flick. Buttercream, gumpaste, meringue, or fondant roses are the only thing you should be upcharged for with the word 'roses' involved. Specify roses vs. Rosettes.
