Inner Route works with students, educators, and leaders to disrupt grind culture in schools.
Through embodiment, meditation, and best teaching practices, our curriculum and pedagogy transform systems and the humans in them.

Watch out, world. Inner Route is still out here making waves. Creative Connections Camp is coming soonâstay tuned!
After a hiatus, Inner Route is thrilled to offer a FREE workshop series to celebrate neurodiversity in ungrounded times.
This lunchbreak workshop is for everyone in the IDD community! We will meet virtually Tuesday and Thursdays from 12-1pm. Participants will be invited to connect to their own creativity through community. Content will center creative writing, movement, meditation, and reflection with time to create and share.
We know COVID isolation has disproportionately impacted people with disabilities. While neurodiverse people are highly skilled adapters, we continue to seek alternative ways to connect meaningfully and safely with others to celebrate our lived experiences. This workshop series is designed to connect people in isolation, create meaningful relationships, explore individual experiences, and gain support from each other. Mark your calendars and sign up at

At Inner Route, we design sessions based on the unique needs of each teenager. We combine academic content (literacy, math, and college planning) with mindfulness practice, tools of self inquiry, confidence building, narrative rewriting, and movement to ensure that students have ample space to reflect, heal, and co-create the educational experience they desire.
If you (or your family member) are seeking deeper transformation during this era of virtual learning, please connect with us at www.innerroute.org.

Because public education was built upon the principles of capitalist interests, the curriculum and norms of exchange as they stand intend to internalize discipline and obedience: both qualities that uphold white supremacist values.
Tapping into an individualâs âInner Routeââthe deep-rooted heart potential beneath the burial by societyâs expectationsâleads to the uprooting of ingrained and damaging public systems.
This individual alchemy serves as a catalyst for collective revolution.
Weâre committed to creating environments of educational healing so that the next generation may spearhead the change they deem necessary for our changing world.
Connect with professional educators to support your remote learning journey, one-on-one.

Happy first week back to school! We know the âback to schoolâ vibes have been a bit different through the screenâhow are you feeling? Weâre here to chat about this process and help navigate any gaps that may be arising for you or your learner.
Last night, we wrapped week 3 of Inner Routeâs first workshop series & it was goosebump-worthy.
While our virtual sessions with young people generally focus on the subjects of our classroom teaching backgroundsâmath and literacyâwe also weave holistic supports throughout to reach each learnerâs core needs and inner work.
During the month of August, weâve been virtually meeting with a group of adult learners to explore how modalities of movement, meditation, and creative writing can create a container on Zoom that feels so much less âZoom-y.â
Iâve been shocked to discover just how transformative and moving this work can be, virtually.
Here is one poignant moment from workshop. Thank you for sharing your movement with us, . We are honored to share this space with each of you and we canât wait to apply what we are finding with high school and middle school learners.
We know the ZOOM burnout is real. We know that remote learning can feel dystopian, artificial, disconnected. We are hard at work (and play) as we experiment with strategies that make virtual platforms of learning feel nourishing, deeply connected, relationship-building, and fulfilling. We want Inner Route sessions to feel as held as this photo of us at Rachelâs partner dance class, (pre-COVID, of course). We canât wait to share what we are learning with you, and to walk together in this journey of making screen time feel genuine and reciprocally human. @ Cheesman Park
from the moment I met Rachel (dancing in a coffee shop) two years ago, I felt compelled to leap out of my comfort zone. She invited me to a dance classâsomething Iâd never attended in my life!âand I was so moved by her welcoming spirit, I decided to take a risk and go.
Being Rachelâs dance student as a differently-abled body was an incredibly healing experience. Her ability to connect to the deeper roots of my somatic experience and meet me there transformed my relationship with my body. She asked me to be her creative writing teacher, and we began to trade sessions in the healing modalities closest to our hearts.
We quickly learned that we are both former high school teachers and that our love for working with teenagers aligns fiercely. (Cue daily conversations about how teens have transformed our lives, our perceptions of the world, and broken the constraints of societal limitations we previously lived by.) We both vehemently agree that teenagers are MAGIC and we both see classrooms as reciprocal healing spaces. We share a mutual mission to address the failure of public education in allowing this meaningful reciprocity.
Now, the chasms in public ed are magnified in the face of a world pandemic. Students and families are expressing concern, fear, and a sense of overwhelming isolation as we transition our already-limited education foundations to the remote world.
Inner Route is born from a reverence toward young people and their learning processes. At Inner Route, students can connect deeply, reach social and emotional fulfillment, and receive the tailored support necessary to succeed confidently in academics, remotely. We seize this opportunity to co-create a new system of education that is healing, intentional, and reciprocal.
If you have tweens, teens, or young adults in your life who are seeking extra support during this time, we are here to facilitate as they tap into their Inner Route and reconnect to the wonder of learning. Connect with us at [email protected].
