š Mental health is such a crucial factor in entrepreneurial success, especially in countries like the Dominican Republic.
After many years of research, my husbandās dissertation defense and virtual presentation, "Mental Health and Support Systems: Impact on Dominican Republic Entrepreneurs," revealed some surprising insights. One of the biggest takeaways? The lack of formal support systems, like financial resources and business banking. But hereās the catchāinformal support systems are filling the gap, and theyāre making it work!
Itās eye-opening to think that informal systems like local lenders are stepping in where formal institutions arenāt. This didnāt create the negative mental health impacts we expected to see, thanks to the strong social networks within these communities. It really makes you rethink how we view support systems in different cultures.
What do you think? How can we bridge the gap between formal and informal support to uplift entrepreneursā mental health and success? Would love to hear your thoughts! š¬
