Peach
Rolls:

Iroquois County offers many opportunities for celebrating.
Watseka and Onarga had Fourth of July parades, fireworks and all kinds of entertainment. This weekend L'Erable will celebrate their French heritage. They have a quaint village with a beautiful church. I am sure there will be great food, fun events and visiting.
Next up will be our Iroquois County 4-H Fair. One of the best in our state.
We are fortunate to have many dedicated folks who work hard to plan all these great events.
Remember to drive very carefully, especially on country roads!
I am looking forward to seeing all of you at The Gathering Saturday, at the Gilt Trip Table.
Plus Cathy and her staff have many new beautiful pieces of furniture. That porch swing needs a home! Also check out the farm display, the menu at The Front Porch, and the take home meals the Lunch Box Ladies have prepared for you.
Blessed and grateful,
Linda

SNEAK PEAK FRIDAY!
Cookie trays with lemon bars, s’mores cookies, strawberry chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, and cookies with peanut butter, oatmeal, peanuts and chocolate chips.
Hmmm do you or do you not need a cookie tray?
These will freeze if you want them for the upcoming holiday, as they have not been frozen at anytime.
Your options are endless including taking one cookie out at a time, and a few hours or minutes later taking out another!
It is always good to have something on hand for whatever might come up.
Hello everyone. Apologies for the lateness of my post. No excuses, just trying to decide what to bring to The Gathering in Gilman this Saturday, which as the last of the month, so therefore, it is Junk in the Trunk.
We talk of how quickly time goes by. No matter what the time of year, or what the weather is, it seems the next season or holiday is just around the corner.
I am planning to bring the following:
Apple, cherry and peach pies.
Cinnamon and caramel pecan rolls.
Blueberry lemon loaf
Chocolate muffins
Lemon poppy seed muffins with lemon glaze
Cookies:
Sugar cookies
Peanut butter
Oatmeal, chocolate chip and crushed peanut cookies
Strawberry chip cookies
S'mores cookies, which I am in jeopardy of becoming addicted to.
Pretzels
Crunchy stuff
Marshmallow Oreo pops
There will be many new options at The Gathering this weekend. New and familiar vendors outdoors beginning at 9am. New offerings indoors too.
Plus, the Lunchbox Ladies. I am curious about the peachy pork they have on the menu.
Save time for lunch at The Front Porch too. Please stop by my Gilt Trip table where I will bring a combination of new sweets as well as some of your favorites.
Alway remember you can reach out to me if you would like me to make something for you. 815-471-2444
To the lady who reached out to me please send me a text, 815-471-2444, as I would love to talk to you!
Blessings to all
Linda
SNEAK PEAK FRIDAY!
Angel food cake slices with a drizzle of icing.
Devils food muffins also available.
Lavender Lemonade is my new favorite Lotus drink! So refreshing and not what you would expect!
Hello everyone. And just like that it is Wednesday again!
Question: When you text, do you leave two spaces or one after the period at the end of a sentence?
We watched "Ellsbeth" on tv. She is a lawyer and very quirky. She also has a wardrobe that goes from very trendy to borderline odd. When investigating a murder, she determined the approximate age of the murderer by a text, which included two spaces after the period, as an older person. Seems younglings leave only one space, while vintage folks leave two, just like we learned in typing class on manual typewriters. Just a thought, if you are trying to keep your identity a secret when texting. Hmmm...
This week on Saturday, June 22 at The Gathering I will be bringing: PIES
Apple, cherry and peach.
ROLLS:
Cinnamon and caramel pecan.
Blueberry Lemon Bread
S'mores cookies
BIG Cookies
Hummingbird Bars
Pretzels
And hopefully a picture of another goodie on Friday.
Thank you for all the support from so many since I have started this new endeavor. I have enjoyed meeting and getting to know you. Thanks too for sharing my posts as Facebook does not usually reach everyone I hope to. Also thanks to Cathy and The Gathering staff for being such a great group of people.
Don't forget to stop by on Saturday and see what is new from all the vendors and stop and say hello to me too.
Blessings,
Linda
Such a clever way to repurpose old pants hangers!
(I would use Command picture hanging Velcro strips so no nails and removable from walls!)

Happy HOT day everyone. It is Illinois, so we knew it was coming.
I will be at The Gathering in Gilman on Friday, June 14 this week, as I will be with our family on Saturday
My wish for all, is that there was someone in your life who mattered to you and Vice versa.
Someone you had great conversations and enormous respect for. My person was one I talked to at least once a week, so we could decide which team we were going to bet on. If I won the bet, I received cash. If I lost, I made and delivered blueberry banana muffins. We also shared books and stories about our surroundings, even the Chicago Cubs. White Sox fan here!
I will be at the Big table on Friday with the following:
Pies: apple, blueberry, cherry, peach, pecan,
Mini pies too.
Caramel Pecan plus Cinnamon Rolls.
Blueberry Lemon Bread
Cheese Crackers
Crunchy Stuff
Pretzels
Watch for further announcements on Thursday Night please!
I am always amazed at how quickly merchandise at The Gathering turns over. Seriously, repeat visits are a must, or you could really miss out on a treasure.
The staff is very helpful in guiding you to great finds. Don't forget to make time for lunch or at least a drink at The Front Porch. Gift certificates are available for The Gathering, Front Porch and Gilt Trip.

Blessings
Linda

Good morning to all of you.
The super nerd in me is surfacing.
The beautiful days we have had recently, has me thinking of the poem "What is so rare as a day in June".
If you Google it, someone will read it to you. I hope you do, and find it lovely.
A little unsettling, as I do not have a written in stone list of goodies that I will bring to The Gathering in Gilman on Saturday.
Just when I gave up on having extra rhubarb, I received some!

SNEAK PEAK FRIDAY!
It's a mallow expression😉. And I am not ganaching you!😂
Shop the 1 Day Sale on Saturday, June 1st from 7:00 am-7:00 pm. Prices active on Friday, May 31st at 4:00 pm. Call ahead to order for easy pickup.
Porkchops on the grill for the parking lot cookout 9:00 am-1:00 pm on Saturday. They are $3.00 each and the proceeds benefit the IW playground equipment in Thawville.
Before serving a pie, I usually reach for this utensil, a gift many years ago from a young lady who grew up next door to us. She is one of four sisters who enhanced our lives with fun times.
Each of the four are very talented in their respective ways, and we have wonderful memories of them, their parents, and now their spouses and families.
This piece just makes my heart happy, as does the carrot cookie cutter from the youngest of the four. I have kept the note that accompanied the gift, and treasure all the stories from that time.
This time of year with young people graduating, and moving towards careers, and new locations, makes me marvel at how quickly life goes on.
What to bake for this Saturday at The Gathering in Gilman?
There will be pies, although I do have to go on a search for more rhubarb, as most patches are going through a time of new growth, so I have a limited supply.
I will have cinnamon rolls, some packaged singularly and some in packages of six.
Caramel pecan rolls
Lemon loaves
Peanut butter plus more peanuts drizzled with chocolate cookies
The (Hostess Cupcake Cake)- chocolate cake with marshmallow cream filling with a top cake layer with chocolate ganache
And something more....
Any ideas on what you might like?
Send a text for requests, please! 815-471-2444
I will be at The Gathering on Saturday, June 1 at 10am.
I stopped by The Gathering today and saw several new pieces near my table. I enjoy the way the vendors display their wares, so stop by and check them out.
Make time to stop by The Gilt Trip table. After you make your choices, I will hold on to them while you continue to shop and have lunch hands free!
And the four girls from next door?
They all married great guys have a total of eleven children, including a college graduate who will be married next summer. And the youngest girl, the mother of three including a set of twins!
Thank you all for coming into my life and into The Gathering!
I am blessed❤️
~Linda
