National WAA Day Dec 19th 2020
WAA is a national non-profit organization from Maine that remembers veterans for their service by using over 1 million volunteers to place a fresh balsam wreath on their graves at over 2500 cemeteries around the US.
The deadline for purchasing wreaths has passed as of Dec 1st. But we hope that you will come to the National Wreaths Across America Day at Alva Cemetery on Dec 19th at 12 noon sharp! Please come early to get parked as we will begin across the nation at the same time. There will be a special part of the ceremony this year that you won't want to miss!! Alva cemetery is on Cemetery Road just on the north west side of Alva. Hope to see you there as we Remember our fallen, Honor those who are serving and Teach our children that Freedom is not free!!

Remember, Honor and Teach. Remember that these veterans have kept this country free, especially ones who served during wartime. But we always remember every veteran for their service.

Just to let you know if you want to still contribute to Wreaths Across America the deadline is Monday, Dec 2nd. You can go online and buy a wreath or two so a deceased veteran has a wreath on his or her grave to remember them for their sacrifices for our FREEDOM!!
