Fuel is the number 1 expense for most truckers now and whether you have 1 truck or small
Fleet every business has to be cautious of money going being spent. There are a few ways to save on fuel and here are the top 3.

1. Fuel cards- the card determines how much and where you save

2. freight less than 30k lbs- the lighter the load the less fuel you burn

3. Maintenance- just like with cars it is imperative that you keep good tires on your equipment and change the oil at least 25k miles or leads t

Feel like you’re being picked on and constantly pulled in for roadside inspections? Well this isn’t random and believe it or not your pull in rate is not a mistake. You are being checked often because your company/fleet has been identified as a high risk fleet by the FMCSA and they are checking you for violation until your scores are better .

Are you in the process of gathering receipts an and expense? Let’s recap what constitutes a taxable expense. The expense has to be ordinary (other people in your business use this l) and necessary (helpful and appropriate) to your business. Here are 3 overlooked expenses

1. Factoring fees- do you use a factoring company that charges you a percentage to pay you? Guess what that’s a taxable deductio.

2. Business bank account fees- does your bank charge you a fee each month to provide you a account? Yes . Can you run your business without it (probably but it is so much harder)

3. Decals- do you have to place stickers on the side of your truck with your logo, mc and for number . This is also a deduction because according to FMCSA this is necessary to driver on high ways
