... Héron Cendré and moli del tro!

for the month of august, the moli del tro label is invited to broadcast ! discover the new album ‘3-4’ by Héron Cendré today at 5pm on radio agnès b.: https://www.agnesb.eu/la-maison-b-/radio/

Born in la Hague near Cherbourg and based in Rennes for 7 years, Héron Cendré builds a poetic world made of sounds from modular synthesizers, field recordings picked up in schools and other minimal lofi weirdness.

The album 3-4 is a perfect example of this. It's 'a pure, minimal, chaotic, holy, cosmic, tender skill, somewhere between a movie soundtrack and a signal from outer-space.' - Gonzaï

His influences include Terry Riley, Philippe Glass, Hiroshi Yoshimura, François de Roubaix, Jean-Jacques Perrey and Pierre Bastien.

Tara... a story of love and commitment!
‘I made a personal commitment to this project, which in 2004 might have seemed totally utopian. In the end, it's a fantastic story. Above all, it's a programme that has advanced science and will continue this mission with the Tara Ocean expedition. We have succeeded in raising the environmental awareness of many young people thanks to Tara's human and scientific adventures.’ - Agnès b.

the Tara adventure is the story of a sincere love between Agnès b. and the sea... but it is first and foremost a family story! in 2003, Agnès b. and Etienne Bourgois acquired the schooner which they transformed into a floating scientific laboratory to protect our oceans. Since then, Tara has travelled 400,000 km and visited 60 countries, contributing to major scientific advances. the Tara Océan Foundation, recognised as a public utility, continues to lead this essential fight for the environment and the preservation of marine life for the benefit of future generations.

... androgeny!
from the outset, agnès b. has blurred the lines between masculine and feminine. from workwear, which she has invited women to wear, to suits, which she has made more flexible. but also in the other direction, dressing men in satin sarouels... and linen jackets for summer!

'I wanted to please them, I wanted to make them look good, in the hope that they would enjoy themselves! We're all different, but we're all the same, and what could be more beautiful!' - Agnès b.

... Telomante and moli del tro!

for the month of august, the moli del tro label is invited to broadcast ! discover the new album ‘Codantera’ by Telomante today at 5pm on radio agnès b.: https://www.agnesb.eu/la-maison-b-/radio/

Jose Guerrero aka Telomante lives in Valencia where he runs the label Mascarpone Discos. A prolific producer, he is running multiple projects such as Sentuhlà on Abstrakce Records or Rastrejo on his own label.

Codantera is a contemplative stroll through soundscapes that leave a lot of space for improvisation, where harmonic fields and abrupt experimentations meet on the same level. The sonic warmth and the strength that emanates from it make this album a jewel of minimalist electronic music.

‘One could find orientation and support in the past of German electronic music, from 1975 to 1985, that is just as timeless, because courageous. Let us remember Cluster, Moebius and Rodelius or Conrad Schnitzler [...] this music speaks of beauty and the idea of a better world.’ - Detlef Weinrich, Tolouse Low Trax

the "objets trouvés jolis"... Agnès' treasures!

with Constance's help, they create unique jewellery, rings, necklaces and brooches made from these ‘objets trouvés jolis’. These treasures live on, celebrating the beauty of little things and the stories they tell!

K for... Harmony Korine!
‘Elective affinities... that's what runs my life! Ever since I was a little girl, I've gravitated towards people who, in some way, I feel are ‘on my side’, who attract me by their charm, their intelligence, their talent, their freedom...’ - Agnès b.

Agnès b.'s meeting with the American director and screenwriter Harmony Korine bears witness to this attraction to people who are different... a chance meeting, as is often the case, at the Venice Film Festival, where she missed the screening of her film. Then an unexpected exchange in a hotel corridor was to be the starting point of a beautiful creative friendship.
The Agnès b. art collection includes several works by the artist, which are featured in the exhibition ‘Contemporary figurative painting in the agnès b. collection’.

J for... Japan!
‘It's a passionate story between us, because they love what I tell them, in a free way... Give Love has become a sort of ritual for them. And then, everything inspires them to dress: manga, rockabilly, hip-hop. And yet they love the simplicity of my lines. It's fascinating.’ - Agnès b.

Agnès b.'s relationship with Japan dates back to the mid-1980s, when the brand set up shop in Tokyo following an encounter. Since then, she has maintained a very special bond with this country and its people... whose courage, delicacy and refinement she admires, as well as the fantasy and freedom of some!

I for... 'point d'ironie'!
created in 1997 by Agnès b., Christian Boltanski and Hans-Ulrich Obrist, Point d'Ironie* is a carte blanche given to an artist... an improved 8-page newsprint imagined between 4 and 6 times a year!

‘Yes, it was a love of art that got me involved in the Point d'Ironie adventure, which we print in runs of between 100,000 and 300,000 copies, and which we distribute all over the world, in galleries, museums, cafés, schools, cinemas and agnès b. boutiques, to make it accessible to as many people as possible. In this age of electronics, the idea was to offer works on paper that could be touched, read, framed and archived...’ - Agnès b.

... Naomie Klaus and moli del tro!

for the month of august, the moli del tro label is invited to broadcast ! discover the new album ‘Youth looks so good on you’ by Naomie Klaus today at 5pm on radio agnès b.: https://www.agnesb.eu/la-maison-b-/radio/

“Youth looks so good on you” is a sonic ballad which bizarrely explores the world that lies between reality and self-fantasy, a world where the aesthetic cult of youth becomes sovereign to the people.

Naomie Klaus is a young artist from Marseille based in Brussels. In love with performance and constantly flirting with cinema and acting, Naomie seems to conceive her music as a big playground, a free zone of mischief in which she likes to experiment and interpret different characters and identities. She doesn't know on which foot to dance and invites us to join a zone of.

H for... les Halles!
'In 1975, we rented an old butcher's shop at no. 3 rue Jour. That was my first shop. There were papyrus, music and about thirty birds roaming free.' - Agnès b.

a place of freedom and creativity where Agnès b. could express her vision of fashion, it was in this boutique... in the heart of the Halles district that it all began! an office, a workshop, a place for expression and meetings... the walls are covered in graffiti and posters... and host discussions and music! it sells bicycles, objects from all over the place and of course a selection of work clothes hijacked and styled by Agnès b. it's almost like a concept store before its time!
the boutique has evolved over the years and now houses the agnès b. men's collection.

G for... Gallery du Jour!
‘I wanted to create a gallery to show what I like. We call it a gallery, but we could also call it a place to show the other side of things, to show painting, sculpture and photography, and at the same time to try to invent new ways of circulating images, to make them accessible to everyone: sketches, stencils, silkscreens, engravings and so on. The gallery's exhibitions will also be on display. The place is still raw, still a bit of a butcher's shop. I hope it will become a lively place where people will want to come back and stop off.' - Agnès b.

opened in 1984 opposite the first agnès b boutique, the galerie du jour joined the agnès b. collection at the Fab, in this historic location of the house in January 2020.

G for... GOTS!
improvement is one of agnès b.'s main concerns, and we attach particular importance to ensuring that our production is in line with the company's values, in particular by obtaining certifications. since 2021, agnès b. has been certified to the GOTS ‘Global Organic Textile Standard’, a worldwide reference standard for the manufacture of garments from organic fibres.
this guarantees that environmental and social criteria are met throughout the production chain, from the harvesting of raw fibres to the finished product!

The iconic cardigan also comes in a GOTS version made from 100% organic fibres, knitted, dyed and manufactured in Troyes, France, by the partner agnès b. has been working with for almost 40 years!

F for... La Fab!
'I was looking for a place that was popular, lively and full of youth. My first thought was to set up my endowment fund in Saint Denis (93), but then I met Jérôme Coumet, the mayor of the 13th arrondissement, who is himself a huge graffiti fan. We found the ideal location, Place Jean Michel Basquiat. Which is quite a story, because one of the first works I bought, a drawing, was a self-portrait by the artist.
The 1400 m2 complex is located on the ground and first floors of a new building designed by architect Augustin Rosensthiehl. Social housing and a crèche are located above. I've called it La Fab, after Warhol's Factory and La Fabrica in Italy.' - Agnès b.

... and Forager Records!

discover an exclusive sneak preview of Forager Records‘ new album ‘Forever Gamblin’ On You’ today at 5pm on radio agnès b.: https://www.agnesb.eu/la-maison-b-/radio/

A full tank of gas, the gentle glow from the radio dial, & stretches of open highway await, Forever Gamblin’ On You meanders through miles of soulful AOR, funky folk, & dusty soft rock obscurities. A follow up to Sky Dust Drifter, this compilation was gleaned from American private press oddities & rarities of the 70s & 80s, all of which are seeing their first official reissues on this album. A celebration of love, rebirth, and exploration radiating like the warmth of a loved one from the passenger seat.

Featuring “Feeling The Fire”, a jazzy, AOR grooving declaration of love and desire taken from the sole release from The Mad Brother. The compilations’ title track “Forever Gamblin On You” by Petroc And Pals, features an echo-laden folk rock recollection of hard feelings delivered with swelling guitar in a mournful soft psychedelia. Angie Pepper’s “Miss You Too Much” dwells on a past love, rolling along with an effortlessly cool rhythm section, while Roy McComas croons of his manifested “angel of love” on the swirling psych folk rocker “Girl Of My Dreams”.

Forever Gamblin’ On You unfolds as a hopeful yet equally melancholic collection of nomadic anthems, primed for a memorable journey along the back roads of familiar American landscapes.

F for... made in France!
'We've been making in France for a very long time, because in France, we have know-how, workshops and skilled people'. - Agnès b.

since 1975, the house has been committed to maintaining this precious know-how... from the selection of raw materials to the final garment! the iconic press-on cardigan, a staple of the house, is still made in Troyes, in the Champagne region. a strong commitment in a constantly evolving sector!

E for... 'Engagement' (commitment)!
'I've always thought that my life wouldn't have any meaning without social commitment. In May 68, I was at all the demonstrations, helping injured people and taking them to hospital. In the fight against AIDS, I was the first in Europe, in 1993, to distribute condoms free of charge in my shops. I also support ecological campaigns, such as the expeditions of the sailing ship Tara, which I bought in 2004, and whose scientific crew are studying the effects of global warming. The 21st century will be one of sharing and solidarity, or it won't be...' - Agnès b.

Agnès b. has always been committed to supporting a number of humanitarian causes, both personally and through the company. These include associations and NGOs fighting aids, protecting children's rights and supporting refugees, as well as initiatives such as the Sarajevo festival, which celebrates its 30th edition this year!

E for... 'agnès b. enfant'!
Agnès b. has always loved the carefree spirit of children, their laughter, their desire to redesign the world, their universe. since the early 80s, she has been creating dedicated collections that often echo the women's and men's collections... using the house's codes through prints and fabrics! each time, we find the same concern for quality and comfort... 'because clothes should be fun to wear'!
agnès b. enfant is above all clothes that are lively, cheeky, funny, easy to live with and that last, often loaned from the oldest to the youngest!

C for… snap-cardigan!
'I always wore a white sweatshirt I'd picked up at a flea market. One day in 1979, I thought it would be nice if it opened at the front. I redesigned it with press studs, inspired by eighteenth-century jackets with buttons close together. This cardigan, which I'm constantly changing, has become an emblem of the house. In 1996, it was the subject of an exhibition at the Centre Pompidou: 70 photographers interpreted it in images.' - Agnès b.
