We had the privilege of performing for the wonderful volunteers and staff at today! They help fight food waste by growing their own produce and collecting donations, and we were the first group to perform in their new garden pavilion. Such an impactful and positive organization, and we’re so thankful to get to share our music with people who are making the world better.

Come wrap a reed with our bassoonist, Khalil! This is just one of the many steps in making a reed.

It’s Mei—greetings from Arizona!! I’m learning ocarina and it’s a very silly time. I woke up early to watch the sun rise and, in full Sound Garden spirit, figured it would be nice to bring a little music to the desert. Too often, we’re afraid to take our music out of the practice room, but it’s nice to step out of that comfort zone from time to time—even if it means annoying your neighbors (or the birds) at 7 am…

Hey everyone, it’s your favorite horn player Jaimee. Each of our quintet members has a cool hobby when we’re not playing our instruments. This week I’d like to share mine with you! When I have some down time, I love to bake and cook. This week, I made a coconut layer cake. Please enjoy this timelapse of the baking process, accompanied by a clip of our own live recording of ‘Tzigane’ by Valerie Coleman.

Mei here with a movie minute (or two)! Everyone who knows anything about me knows I will not shut up about movie soundtracks, especially animated ones. Michael Giacchino is one of my favorite film composers (I nearly passed out when I met him a few years ago) and I've been wanting to play this lil diddy from Ratatouille ever since it came out in 2007(!!!!!)--this frantic solo happens while Remy is sneaking unseen through the walls before he crawls outside and discovers he's in Paris.
