(6/19/23) Just before 2pm, the Southbury Fire Department was dispatched to Kettletown State Park for a reported structure fire. First arriving units found a side-by-side on fire with extension to the park's camping office. Crews stretched 2 handlines off of E7, quickly knocking down the bulk of the fire. Oxford Fire was requested to the scene for a Rapid Intervention Team, and an additional engine and tanker.

(6/19/23) At approx 9am, the Derby Fire Department was dispatched to Maple Avenue across from Griffin Hospital for the reported structure fire with possible entrapment. Derby PD arrived and reported heavy fire on the rear deck extending into the 2nd and 3rd floors. 201 arrived shortly afterwards and assumed Derby Command. Crews operated multiple handlines, marking the fire under control in approx half an hour. Extensive overhaul was required. Derby Fire units operated alongside Ansonia and Shelton Fire on scene, with Seymour Fire providing a Rapid Intervention Team.

(10/30/22) Just before 9:30am, the Ansonia Fire Department was dispatched to Prindle Ave and Pulaski Highway for a possible vehicle fire. Car 24 arrived on scene to find a single car motor vehicle accident, with the vehicle striking a utility pole, into a tree and fully involved on fire. The occupant was out of the vehicle, with minor injuries.

(11/11/22) Shortly after 7am, the Naugatuck Fire Department was dispatched to 282 High St for a reported structure fire. On arrival, crews found fire in a 3rd floor bedroom. Crews stretched one line and had the fire under control within minutes of arrival. Waterbury Fire provided a ladder and engine to the scene.

Just after 8:30pm, Derby FD9 arrived to 207 Caroline St for an EMS run. On arrival, EMS crews found fire showing from the second floor of the building with exposure issues and called a working fire. Derby Fire along with mutual aid from Ansonia, Shelton, Orange and Seymour all operated on scene. Crews had heavy fire on the second floor that extended into the attic. The fire was knocked down, and extensive overhaul was needed.

(9/9/22) At approx 4:30pm, the Oxford Fire Dept was dispatched to the area of 785 Oxford Rd for a reported motor vehicle accident. 403, already in the vicinity, immediately advised of a 2 car head on accident with 1 occupant trapped in a vehicle in the roadway, with the second car into a tree. On arrival, crews removed the driver side door and performed a dash lift to free the victim. Extrication was completed quick.

(9/11/22) At 5:47am, the Derby Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 39 Spring St. First arriving units had fire on the third floor, with extension to the cockloft. A second alarm was struck, bringing additional mutual aid to the scene. Crews made a quick knockdown of the fire, bringing the fire under control within approx half an hour. All occupants were able to escape, along with multiple pets rescued. One firefighter was injured due to a dog bite. Derby Fire operated with mutual aid from Ansonia, Shelton, and Orange FDs.

(6/12/22) At approximately 2:40pm, the Shelton Fire Dept was alerted to a rollover in the area of 950 Howe Ave. Car 4 arrived to find a single car on its side, with two occupants trapped within. Once the car was stabilized, crews folded the roof to get access to both victims. Both victims were extricated within approx 15 min. Squad 1, Engine 52, and Truck 55 handled.

(5/27/22) At approximately 8:40pm, the Oxford Fire Dept was dispatched to Jackson Cove for a reported water rescue. While responding, dispatch advised Car 1 that a park visitor noticed a man yelling for help in the water. The victim had been kayaking before the vessel had overturned. As units arrived on scene, the victim was able to make it to shore on the Newtown side of the park. Brush 55 immediately deployed a crew on Marine 1, and had the victim safely on board within minutes. Car 1, Car 3, Brush 55 w/ boats, Rescue 54, Utility 35 w/ boat, Rescue 44 and Engine 42 handled.

(5/23/22) Just before 3:45pm, the Derby Fire Dept was dispatched to Aldi's on Pershing Dr for a possible structure fire. First arriving crews encountered employee reports of smoke filling a room in the rear. 1 line was stretched throughout as crews investigated the source of the smoke. Mutual aid was requested to the scene, consisting of Ansonia Truck 7, Engine 6, and Shelton Ladder 51, Squad 1 for RIT. Crews eventually managed to trace the source back to a burnt compressor, with no further fire hazard.

(5/21/22) Shortly after 6pm, the Oxford Fire Dept was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of 231 Oxford Rd. Car 3 arrived on scene and reported a 2 car head on collision, with 2 occupants trapped in 1 vehicle. Crews went to work and had both occupants extricated within 10 minutes. Car 1, Car 3, Rescue 44 and Engine 41 handled.

(5/3/22) At approx 9:40am, the Naugatuck Fire Department was dispatched to Andrew Ave for a reported structure fire. Crews arrived to find smoke showing from the roof of a 2 1/2 wood. Mutual aid from Beacon Falls for RIT and Waterbury for an engine and a truck to the scene was started. As crews were making a push into the top floor, a mayday was activated for a downed firefighter on the second floor. The injured firefighter was quickly removed from the building with moderate but non-life threatening injuries. The main body of fire was knocked down within 30 min, while crews continued to chase hotspots and overhaul. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

(4/29/22) Just after 3pm, the Ansonia Fire Department was dispatched to 29 Scotland St for a reported structure fire. While en route, Car 21 declared a working fire due to a large header visible. Companies arrived to find heavy fire showing from the bravo side, with fire running up both the first and second floors, as well into the attic. The fire was knocked down within approx 30 min. One firefighter was transported out of precaution. Derby FD provided a mutual aid engine and ladder on scene, and Seymour FD set up RIT on scene with 2 engines providing city coverage.

At approximately 1pm on Easter Sunday, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of 5th St for the reported structure fire. First arriving companies found heavy fire showing from the 2nd and 3rd floors, prompting a 2nd alarm to be struck. Bulk of the fire was knocked down within 20 minutes. Crews rescued multiple pets from the home.

At 16:49 hours, the Bridgeport Fire Department responded to a building collapse in the 1200 block of Barnum Ave. First arriving units found the roof and bravo, delta sides of a vacant church had fully collapsed. Ladder 5 and Ladder 6 utilized their aerials and thermal imaging cameras to perform searches of the rubble. A separate building on the bravo side was impacted by debris. Searches were deemed negative, and all fire units cleared after approx 1 hour.

(3/20/22) Just before 4pm, Newtown Fire Companies were dispatched to High Rock Rd for smoke in a building. Upon arrival, heavy smoke was observed coming from the second floor. 2 lines were stretched to the front door out of precaution. Crews checked the structure, before determining a malfunctioning furnace was most likely to be the issue. Sandy Hook, Hawleyville, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Botsford operated on scene, along with Stevenson mutual aid for a tanker.

(3/13/22) Just before 6:30pm, the Derby Fire Department was dispatched to Elm St for the reported structure fire. First arriving crews found heavy smoke coming from the structure. Upon entry, a working basement fire was found. Initial reports of an unaccounted for occupant prompted an aggressive search, however that was quickly cleared once determined that the occupant was not home. Mutual aid to the scene was requested from Ansonia and Shelton Fire. The fire was marked under control within approx 25 min.

Just before 3:15pm, the Derby Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Roosevelt Dr & Cullens Hill Rd for a brush fire. While en route, dispatch advised they were taking multiple calls reporting seperate brush fires along Roosevelt Dr. First arriving units found multiple fires burning, all extending up the hill into the Osbornedale Park area. While crews diverted to the top of the hill, Engine 12 utilized their deck gun to knock the bulk of fire down from the bottom of the hill. Derby Fire along with a Seymour tanker, and Shelton brush units, handled.

(3/3/22) Shortly after 5pm, the Seymour Fire Dept was dispatched to Patrick Dr for a possible kitchen fire. Crews arrived to find a small fire around the stove with a moderate smoke condition throughout the house. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and vented the home, operating for approx 45min.

At approximately 5pm, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to Laurel Pl for the reported structure fire. As companies were en route, a large header can be seen from a distance. The 2nd Alarm was struck on arrival of Engine 4, with heavy fire showing from the C side of a 2.5 story wood with fire extending to the delta exposure.

(2/20/22) At approx 2:30pm, Newtown Fire Companies were dispatched to Mount Pleasant Rd for a reported home under construction on fire. Upon arrival, first arriving units found fire showing from the C side and chimney area of a 1.5 story wood. Crews had the bulk of the fire knocked down shortly after 3pm.

(2/18/22) Just before 10am, the Waterbury Fire Department was dispatched to Rosette St for the reported structure fire. Engine 8 arrived to find heavy fire in the rear of a 2 story wood. Crews operated multiple handlines and made an aggressive interior attack, resulting in the fire being marked under control within approx 30 min.

(2/15/22) Just after 7:30pm, the Ansonia Fire Department was dispatched to Spring St for the reported structure fire with entrapment. Ansonia Car 24 arrived on scene and confirmed the working fire, with heavy smoke and fire showing in the rear. APD and first arriving fire crews forced entry to the home, successfully rescuing two occupants from inside. Crews stretched and operated two handlines, extinguishing the bulk of the fire quickly while others vented the roof. The fire was deemed under control at approx. 8pm. Ansonia, Derby, and Seymour all operated on scene.

At approximately 1:30pm, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Midland St and Gilman St for a possible water rescue. Witnesses reported a lady walk into the water holding an item—possibly a baby, drop the item, and then exit the water and drive off. Bridgeport Fire, Fairfield Fire, Bridgeport Police Dive Team, and Fairfield Police Dive Team all responded and immediately began searching the river. Crews searched for nearly 2 hours with nothing found. Bridgeport PD was able to locate the female party and verify there was no risk to any children. All units cleared shortly afterwards.

(2/12/22) At approximately 1311hrs, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 1000block of East Main St. Ladder 5 arrived to find 4 story brick building with heavy smoke showing on the Arctic St side. With heavy smoke conditions throughout the large occupied building, a 2nd alarm was called. Crews remained on scene for approx 2 hours overhauling before returning to service.

(1/15/22) Just before midnight, the Watertown Fire Department responded to Main St for a reported structure fire. Car 2 arrived to find a 3 story wood dwelling with heavy fire throughout the building, along with reports of an occupant was trapped within. A second alarm was quickly struck. Crews had fire on all 3 floors and extension into the garage in back. After evacuating the building for a quick defensive approach, crews re-entered the building to extinguish stubborn pockets of fire in the walls and top floor. Unfortunately, the third floor occupant was found deceased. Crews operated well into the night facing low single digit temperatures with severe wind chills.

At approx 9:30am, the New Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 1361 Chapel St for multiple calls reporting a structure fire. Emergency 3 arrived on scene with fire showing on the exterior of a 2 1/2 wood mixed occupancy. Due to an aggressive attack, the fire was quickly knocked down before it could extend into the structure.

As 2021 comes to an end, so comes the 1 year anniversary of E. Iott Photography.

At approx 11pm, the Shelton Fire Department was dispatched to Charles St for the reported porch fire. Engine 2 arrived to find a well involved fire on the A side of the house. The fire was quickly knocked down, with only minor extension into the first floor. Crews remained on scene for about an hour conducting salvage and overhaul. There were no injuries. Engine 2, Engine 42, Engine 52, Ladder 51, and Rescue 45 operated under the command of Lieutenant Mayer.

At about 2:40pm, the Trumbull Fire Departments were dispatched to 48 McGuire Rd for the reported structure fire. On scene, crews found an attached garage heavily involved in fire. The fire spread to the single story home along with several vehicles on the property. The fire was knocked down in about 40 minutes, with extensive overhaul needing to be completed. Trumbull Center, Nichols, Long Hill, along with mutual aid Monroe and Stepney operated on scene, with Shelton providing town coverage.
