Great opportunity with convenient, extended hours!
G-PISD voters have approved three school bonds since 2012 - AND - the total tax rate for our school district has DECREASED during that time from $1.35 to $1.2103. How is this possible? School finance is complex, yet the basic answer is that G-PISD has a high tax valuation due to industrial growth -- in fact, industry now covers 90% of all school bonds at full tax value. This is uncommon among districts in Texas, and it means that for a limited time we can present bonds for voter consideration with no increase to the total tax rate.
