Servants of the Holy Resurrection is simply an Anglican Community experiment. Conversely, no other group is as needful of our evangelization.
Its objective is to establish a contemplative community model for persons called to a deeper life of prayer along with caring for persons living with a life-limiting illness. Jesus said, "I was sick and you took care of me....."Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these, who are members of my family, you did it to me," Matthew 25:45,40 After serving God as a Hospice Chaplain
for over 35 years, the greatest lesson I've learned there are few groups of people hungrier for the touch and embrace of the Divine Physician than those who are dying. There are few things as heartbreaking as that of seeing people entering into eternity fearful, hopeless, and without Christ. This forum is for those interested and called to care and love those who are ill, particularly those who are terminally ill. It is a forum for those interested in forming communities dedicated to prayer, love, and ministry to those who are dying. Though an Anglican Community movement, e.g., the Anglican Continuum & Anglican Church in North America, the Servants of the Holy Resurrection forum is a place for any Christians interested in making new wineskins of communities of prayer and ministry to those with life-limiting illnesses. Finally, the hope is to create a more Christocentric model of praxis where many more people lay or ordained, on the local parish level or free-standing, can be models of Christain commitment that can begin taking back what Jesus told us is one of the most important and life-giving ministries of the church.
