This awful memory popped up on FB today, & it immediately triggered some emotions that did not feel pleasant. 😢

I was flying to Tennessee to go get my Abby , who we had flown out to stay with her Dad & step mom for a couple of months.

Why????? You may ask.... 🙈

Oh! Because, my life was in shambles, I maybe weighed 84 lbs & was so strung out from pills, that I couldn't even make it through that trip without starting to withdraw. It was an awful time in my life & I didn't even deserve to have my Abby with me at that time. But my pride told me that I had to rush her back home , cuz omg! What will everyone think????

That was back when I was too afraid to admit to everyone that I had a problem & that I needed help. So I still tried to cover s**t up, knowing damn well, people are not stupid. Haha 😄 😄. But we as addicts, think we are slick at that time. 🤣

Clearly, by comparing the pic on the left from 11 years ago, with the pic on the right from 2 weekends ago, you can tell how skinny & unhealthy & wrinkly I was. I looked look ET... or some other form of Extra Terrestrial being. 🤣🤣😭😭😭

I thought that I would share how easy it us for us addicts to get triggered by old memories that remind us of a traumatic time in our lives.

☝🏼 The first lather begins the process by breaking up product, loosening buildup and residue. It helps remove any external residues...whether that's from products, the evironment, etc. It doesn't lather that much on your first wash. That's normal! 👌

Welp. Here it is. Today is my 2 years clean & sober! I've been waiting & yearning to get to this point , & now here we are. 😄 🤣 😂.
I didn't think I had it in me. I didn't see a way out. My life was in shambles & the only reason I wasn't homeless was because of my Dad.
This program that I am working today is different than all of the other times I got clean. I have no one to answer to, or test me for using. No DCS, no one. I guess that's what makes it different this time.
I truly want to better myself for MYSELF this time, & I'm not doing it for anyone else. I am working hard to heal my past traumas & unhealthy relationships FOR MYSELF.
I finally enjoy my own company. ❤️
I am beyond grateful for the life that I have built for myself today. Without the support of the women in our tribe, I wouldn't be here today.

🤔 So I was scrolling and saw someone asking for ways to have extra income for their household. 💰 🤑 💸

There were a few people commenting make this, bake that, etc and a few suggesting different MLM/Network Marketing Companies. One lady said oh look here come the MLM folks with a shark gif 🦈 posted with it.

I know these companies (as a whole) got a bad rap when Tupperware Tammy was messaging you non stop about her products, or Norwex Nancy was adding you to parties that you didn’t want to be added to. Mary Kay Mandy and Senegence Sally were posting non stop about why they had the best products. Avon Alice and Scentsy Susan are always showing up in your feed, and you roll your eyes scrolling on.

Let me ask this, have you blocked the Walmart ads? Bath and Body Works? Sephora? Chevrolet? Ford? McDonalds? with the same disgust you have for your fellow neighbor who is trying to find a way to help their family and a monetary contributor to their house hold? 🤷‍♀️

When someone suggests a new hair care or house hold item you can pick up at a chain store do you think to yourself ‘oh, there’s pushy Carry trying to get me to buy something else’?

I’m not asking you to support everyone in your friends list by purchasing something. I’m just asking you to have an open mind about why they began that journey and be open minded to what they are trying to accomplish for themselves and their families.
