We came, we saw, we conquered! Rope dropped at 7:30am and got in a few more rides right up until 11am. We walked 15 miles and had an amazing time.

I think o have a new favorite ride - Radiator Springs Racers. I did it twice and I must say, doing it at night is a whole new experience!

From 9:30-2 we crushed:

Made it to rope drop!

Today is the day! Just woke up at 5:30am and we will head to Grand Californian to drop off luggage and then rope drop at 7:30 for Disneyland.

One perk we get for staying on site (just like WDW) is early entry. So I’m excited to knock off some rides before the park officially opens!

🔎Fun Fact Friday: Walt Disney's Apartment in Disneyland

When Disneyland was under construction in the 1950s, Walt Disney added an in-park apartment above the fire station on Main Street, U.S.A. to shorten his commute. Today, you can still see the lamp in the window (which remains illuminated as a symbol of his legacy).

Those looking to peek inside the famous animator’s former living quarters can join Walt’s Main Street Story Tour, which costs $160 on top of your park admission and covers secrets about the thoroughfare and hidden apartment. I don't have time to do this tour on this visit, but plan to do it when I return in the future!

🎢 Theme Park Thursday: Disneyland vs. Disney World Attractions

With this being my first time to Disneyland, I am focusing my attention on the rides that differ from Disney World. Don't get me wrong, I will still be checking out Pirates of the Caribbean, the Little Mermaid, and It's a Small World, but my priority will be to check out all the rides that Disney World doesn't have. Here is just a sneak peak of the ones I am the most excited to check out:

Tip: If using Uber for pickup, request Uber Black so you can get curbside pickup. Regular Uber you need to take a shuttle to and that’s the last thing you want after a flight.

👩🏻‍🏫Wisdom Wednesday: Genie+ in Disneyland

While both Disney World and Disneyland offer Genie+ as an option to reduce wait times, there are a few differences. And as an avid Disney World visitor, it's important that I know these two big changes from Orlando:

1. You can purchase Genie+ in advance for a standard price of $30 in Disneyland (but it must be purchased for every day if you purchase in advance). You can purchase day of, but only once you have scanned you theme park admission and entered the park.
2. Everyone with Genie+ can make their first selection as soon as they enter either theme park. (This is also the same for ILL)

🍭Tuesday Treat: Churros in Disneyland

Continuing on with my week of Disneyland...we are now discussing one of the treats I am most excited to check out! National Churro day is actually Thursday this week...and I'll be eating one on Saturday - close enough!

Disneyland is renowned for its delicious churros, and there are churro carts all over since they are so popular. They have a few different seasonal varieties in addition to the classic cinnamon and sugar ones. Currently, they have a strawberry churro, blackberry churro, pineapple churro, Mr. Potato Head Chip Churro (topped with Crushed Potato Chips and a Chocolate Drizzle), Junkyard Jamboree Churro inspired by “Cars” (Chocolate-espresso sugar-dusted churro with chocolate engine oil sauce topped with assorted candy parts), and Blueberry Cheesecake Churro.

And if you want to even add some more flavor, they have some fun summer dipping sauces as well: Guava-Cream Cheese Dipping Sauce, Marionberry Dipping Sauce, Pineapple Cookie Dipping Sauce.

💫 Magical Monday: Sleeping Beauty's Castle Walkthrough

One thing that my husband Mike loves to do is walk-through Cinderella's Castle when we are in Disney World - literally you just walk through the archways and that's it. You can't go inside or anything...however, in Disneyland our castle experience will be much different!

At Disneyland Park, guests have the enchanting opportunity to step inside Sleeping Beauty's Castle, the iconic centerpiece of the park. The castle features the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough, a charming attraction that invites visitors to explore the story of Princess Aurora through a series of dioramas and displays set within the castle's interior.

These intricate scenes, enhanced by special effects and music, bring the classic fairy tale to life as guests meander through the winding passageways. This immersive experience offers a unique perspective on the beloved story and allows visitors to feel like they are part of the magical world of Sleeping Beauty.

🛏️ Sleepover Sunday: Grand Californian

Since I will be staying at this amazing hotel next week, I thought I would feature it this week! The Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at Disneyland is a luxurious, craftsman-style hotel located in the heart of the Disneyland Resort in California.
