This year let’s commit to not only being physically healthy, but mentally and emotionally healthy.
Right now it’s such a scary time here on the West Coast. Here in Fresno our closest fire is the creek fire which is threatening Fresno county and just 15 minutes away from my home. I’ll be volunteering this by collecting much needed toiletries for the men and women on the front lines. It’s also really important right now for a mental health to be prepared and I feel like we have an exit strategy. No matter where you are in regards to the fires take a minute and pack a go bag. Even if it’s just throwing some spare clothes in the car and packing an extra bag of dog food. Any level of preparation can really help ease your worries if these fires are causing you stress or anxiety
starts with changing our perspective from the individual having a problem to the individual is reacting to a trauma. So often we jump right to wanting to know “what’s wrong,” to diagnose, but this leads to ignoring what the person is experiencing and trying to communicate. Remember behaviors are communications just as important as words.

One of my favorite person centered thinking skills is called the donut store. Today, we examine how we can use the donut sort to discove what our core responsibilities are and where we have opportunities to use creativity. This skill is great for managers, supervisors, and HR folks. Check out pctcoach.com/PCT for this free worksheet. @ Person Centered Coaching & Consulting Group
Virtual school at home is a whole new ballgame! To help kids manage their schedules try using a smart bulb like the Alexa glow. Most kids are visual learners. Instead of watching a clock their more likely to respond to the gentle reminder of a colored light on their desk that signals its time to log into Zoom or break time is over. I love the programability of the glow lamp along with its small footprint. is not affiliated with Alexa and does not receive any consideration for this recommendation.
Not enough hours in the day? Falling behind on your goals and projects? Time Thieves may be to blame. Follow or check out www.pctcoach,com for tips on how to stop these time bandits!
Today marks the 100 year anniversary of the adoption of the 19th amendment. Let us not forget that only a century ago women did not have the same rights as men. These women gained the right to vote by being a nuisance, protesting, and never giving up. As I look at the political climate today with the BLM movement I see so many parallels. As a feminist I stand with . Because no life matters until all lives matter. Just like the suffragettes of the 1900's the protesters today must make a nuisance of themselves in order to shed light on this very important issue of inequality.
Homeschool blues? Us too! Here's some tips that have worked in our house as we transition into the unknown world of homeschooling. Check out these resources for more inspiration!

In our society we tend to shy away from talking about our grief. When colleagues ask "How are you doing?" We reply with some bu****it placation that we're doing just fine. When in reality we are all grieving. Grieving our sense of security, normalcy, sanity, relationships, jobs, and more. This tulmotulous and never ending nightmare of 2020 is placing so much strain on our ability to cope no one can honestly say they're "OK". And that is Ok. We need to give ourselves room to grieve and process. Grief is such a normal process that everyone will experience at sometime in their life. Let's normalize talking about grief. Where do you get stuck? What is holding you back from reaching acceptance? @ Person Centered Coaching & Consulting Group
46 years ago students were promised equality. Yet, so many students today endure discrimination, racism, violence, and live in fear. We must use our privilege to be allies, to elevate the voices of black creators and leaders, and to hold our leaders accountable.
