YES, Strength training increases muscle, but not alone. 👉 You need quality food in abundance 🥗🍗🍠 and adequate recovery 😴💧... otherwise the opposite happens and muscle begins to deteriorate (atrophy).

"I JUST NEED TO DO IT!".....
Here's why you can't.
I had the pleasure of having coffee ☕️ with a woman today from our local Professional Women's Network about speaking at one of their events. (Very excited for this BTW)
I described to her the symptoms so many women experience that they are looking for a solution to…
Fatigue, Brain fog, Moodiness, Cravings, Sporadic eating habits, Weight gain/trouble losing weight, Trouble sleeping, Stress… the list goes on, right? 🙇♀️
“You’re speaking to me!” She said. “I’ve tried EVERYTHING to become healthier.” and then went on to list the things she's tried that most women have at one time or another.
“I know I need to just eat better food, workout consistently, get better sleep, and relax to see results. Ugh. I just need to DO IT!”
So I asked her, “So what is preventing you?”
“Im so busy during the day and then exhausted by the time I get home, the last thing I want to do is prep meals or work out.”
… at this point I get excited to help because she is NOT the first nor will she BE the last to describe this EXACT struggle and I know the proven solution.

Salmon skin - yes you can eat it and in most cases should! It has a higher concentration of anti-inflammatory omega 3 fats and vitamins.
Omega 3s are an important part of our daily diet and if you’re not getting it from fish - take a quality supplement (link in bio). It can reduce inflammation to FEEL better and support healthy weight loss and muscle gain/maintenance.
Some days are easier than others.
Not just for working out, eating right, managing stress, getting sh*t done…. But for ALL of it.
So on those difficult days, I meet myself where I’m at that day, not where I was the day before or where I hope to be the day after. And I set ONE goal to complete. ONE thing that I know will make tomorrow better... and let the rest of the day fall where it may.

Shout out to Ms V who has been kicking butt for the last 12 weeks and seeing and feeling some phenomenal progress.
V. works full-time and takes care of her elderly mother full-time. Earlier this summer V. had been not feeling her best at all and not taking the time for her self that she so desperately needed.

🍑 Listen… I love my butt. I hope a year from now it is stacked extra large! But(t) it wasn’t always this way. For a long time I wanted to be skinny as possible (not a great goal) . Then I wanted to be strong AF (better, but I pushed some sketchy limits). Now I am proud of the lessons I’ve learned and the assets that I have gained along the way that have survived the test of time. Ladies, What’s your favorite body part???? Upper Body Workout today got me feeling like Arnold! Ladies, If this amount of arm muscle is more than you’d want for yourself, don’t be worried that you’re going to get bulky overnight from lifting heavy weights. I have been doing this for over a decade with intention of building max strength. My BODY TYPE (short mesomorph) just happens to build muscle quickly and my training for strength resulted in bulkier muscle groups. (I get asked a lot if I am/was a gymnast 🤸♀️ ). However Most women don’t have the genetics to build bulkier muscles like this. I know MANY women far stronger than I that have leaner looking muscles. SO… bottom line… genetics matter enormously in resulting body shape. Want to bulk a part of your body? 💪🦵🍑? I can teach you how! Want to lean out? I can help with that too! 💥Among the chaos of motherhood, I have to make time to get my workouts in. 💥
And since I didn’t have time to make it to the gym today, I also made room. Shoving toys 🚗🧩🪀🏀⚽️🧸 out of the way since our workout room doubles as the play room and catch-all for the boys toys. So my space isn’t always clean and set up perfectly, but it’s enough.
I used to think that if I’d missed a class workout - oh well, try again tomorrow. Doing this repeatedly broke up my routine and left me less and less motivated to workout.
I eventually discovered that motivation follows action. ➡️ If I missed a class workout, but still made time to do even a short but effective exercise, even if I was tired, I always felt better AND began to CRAVE the workouts. This is not a fluke. It’s habit building. It’s science. 🤓
