Please take the time to educate yourselves and and understand, please take the time to read and share.

We must be the voice for the voiceless, raising awareness is the first step towards change. Please understand this is NOT a religious matter but instead this is an urgent issue regarding human rights. Palestinians including many families & young children are losing their lives on a day to day basis.

As human beings, we’ve become very desensitized to this. Here are a few photos briefly explaining what is happening in and in

Please try and find the right recourses to learn more about what is happening in Palestine and what has been happening for many years now. Feel free to send us a message for more information or on different ways you could help. Prayers are needed. Help is needed. We are needed.

The Developmental domains series, part (1/7)

💪🏼: Gross motor is the movement of big muscles and consequently involves large (or gross) physical actions. Gross motor skills are abilities that allow individuals to do things that involve using the large muscles in the torso, arms, and legs to complete whole-body movements.
This is control of things like running, walking ,crawling, jumping, climbing, etc.
💭What is your child’s favorite gross motor activity?? When I was younger, you could always catch me on the monkey bars at our local park!

☁️Learning through play, not a “mess” 🌟
Looking at the difference within these photos, some might automatically notice a clutter or it being messy. Personally I instantly try to notice what is being used by the child. I love looking at the toys and objects they use and seeing HOW they make use of their toys. 🌈
🌟
Play is one of the main ways in which children learn and develop. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. Because it’s fun, children often become very absorbed in what they are doing.
Play is very important to a child's development, it is an integral part of a child's Early Years Foundation Stage and supports their learning journey too. Young children can develop many skills through the power of play. They may develop their language skills, emotions, creativity and social skills. Play helps to nurture imagination and give a child a sense of adventure. Through this, they can learn essential skills such as problem solving, working with others, sharing and much more.
🌟
As parents, rather than getting upset at your children for creating “messes” try to shift your perspective and look at how and what they are learning through their play ☁️🌈💪🏼

Mila using her new “Sand tray and play set” 🌻☁️
If you look closely, you’ll notice how her fingers are gripping onto our wooden spoon helping her use her fine motor skills! This is exactly why we added our wooden spoon and wooden tweezers! Not only does she have to pick out the felt balls and wooden letters using her fingers but it helps littles learn how to grip onto utensils and other objects, which helps progress their fine motor skills domain. 🌈

A friend of mine sent this to me and told me that she thought this would be perfect for Kids In Control. With starting KIC less than a month ago, hopefully that shows me I’m doing something right, right? ☁️
Affirmations with kids builds lifelong resilience, 🌈
It’s all too easy to get sucked into negative thinking spirals when we’re in stressful situations or environments throughout our lives.
It’s healthy and essential for your child to identify and express their emotions, but it’s not helpful to stay stuck in them for extended periods.
The more your child is exposed to intentional positive thoughts, the more they practice intentional positive thought, the easier time their neurons will have traveling this path in the future.
✨✨✨
To Grow Self-Love children could use affirmations such as:

I am enough.

I am unique in many ways.

I have special gifts to give my community.

I will use kind thoughts and words about myself.

I know that I have value as a person.

I am on this planet for a reason.

I don’t need to be perfect to be worthy.

I am grateful for who I am.🤍

Our mission is to provide children and families with age appropriate learning materials & room decor that support the main developmental domains in early childhood💡☁️
As we all know, shopping for children is considered very “easy”. Our minds and our eyes immediately look for something entertaining & colorful, but what we don’t think about is how it benefits children’s cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, language, social/emotional skills, spiritual & moral, self-help/adaptive skills.

Kids In Control is created to be an easy & accessible way to purchase items that children need & want for their growth 🤍

Whether you are shopping for your own child or looking to buy gifts, you have come to the right place :) All is welcome & thank you for joining us on this beautiful journey ☁️

(P.s. one of our items is in this photo, if you can figure out what it is and comment below, you will receive 15% off your first order! 😉)

“Imagination relies on a solid foundation of real-life experiences, accompanied by ample opportunity for exploration and experimentation- this includes exploration and experimentation through pretending or imagining alternative outcomes. “
– Sarah Werner Andrews, “The Development of Imagination and the Role of Pretend Play”, 27th International Montessori Congress
☁️☁️☁️
The Montessori approach holds that it is easiest for children under 6 to understand, process and relate to things that they find in the world around them. They have a very concrete understanding of the world at this age. What they see, touch, smell, feel is the easiest form for them to understand. 🌈
The most efficient way to maximize the benefits of pretend play is to encourage imagination but limiting fantasy. A child who spends too much time in a world of fantasy may find it difficult to relate to others, to interact in a group, to be in the here and now. It can also be very scary for the child since it is difficult for them to distinguish between what is real and what is not such as witches, monsters etc.
🌻
The Montessori approach prefers to use real life objects and practical life activities, rather than traditional classroom toys since playing “house” and “school” is children’s way of processing the world around them. By using real life objects and activities, this helps children learn news skills, builds independence and feeling of self-reliance🤍
