Hansel Construction

Another flooring job that was completed a few weeks ago for Jim and Toni. Homeowners helped with removing the hardwood from the kitchen and carpet in the bedrooms. They also repainted all the walls in each of these rooms.

Someone forgot to get before pictures for this job so here are pictures of the final work. All new flooring in the main living area and down the steps to the basement. New light fixtures, 14 LED lights were added, all new paint on the walls and ceiling, tile backsplash, countertops and all new appliances. Both the kitchen and livingroom windows were replaced and a sliding glass door that was replaced with French doors. There was a wall located on the front side of the island that made the kitchen space feel extremely small. That wall got removed and the cabinets got pushed to the far wall in the dining room to create an open floor plan. I think we all can agree that a shower stall looks a lot nicer installed on the subfloor or in this case concrete. Homeowners Barry and Rhena Hockenberry wanted to get their hands involved with their remodel and helped with removing the old flooring, painting and installing the shiplap on the walls. I've been extremely busy since getting home from VA and haven't been able to post recent jobs that have been finished. Here are some photos of a few small jobs that I was able to quickly throw into my schedule before starting my bigger remodel jobs. Check out the next post for a bathroom/flooring remodel that I just completed at the beginning of the week.

After 4 long months of hard work and time away from the wife and kid, down here at Lake Anna, VA, this house renovation is finally complete! We had our ups and downs but with the help from my brother, nothing was able to keep us from wrapping this project up in a reasonable time. Even though it was for family, I was very excited to help create this beautiful transformation for Bruce and Sonya. We installed all new flooring, lights to bring this house to life, trim and paint throughout the entire house. Added some barn doors for the laundry and pantry rooms to eliminate those outdated bi-fold doors. All new appliances with new Granite countertops and their own little coffee bar with very unique backsplash.

Starting the new year 3.5hrs away down in Mineral, VA. Stay tuned as we start this first floor renovation project. We are here to remove some walls, new flooring, more lights (that are much needed), all new paint and an updated kitchen to bring this house back to life again.

Those orange countertops/backsplash are things from the past. There are a few things that the homeowners need to finish but overall, this job is completed.

Say goodbye to those dark, yucky walls! All new paint on the walls, ceilings and trim on this first floor/staircase.

Remember that Turquoise bathroom we remodeled a month ago? Well here's the sister to that bathroom as this bathroom was full with the color pink! Leaking shower floor? Call Hansel Construction! A friend of ours bought a house and their brand new tile shower floor was poorly installed. The drain wasn't centered and set to high so the water couldn't drain and was creating puddles of water on the floor..causing it to leak. We removed the existing floor & pan, fixing all water damages and added a new pan with a different look for the tile floor. We also added a new shower door to help maintain the water inside the shower stall.

We would like to thank Bob Folk and his wife Sandi for choosing Hansel Construction and Down East Fabrication, Inc. to help remodel their kitchen countertops, sink and faucet. We also added a new backsplash, replaced the receptacles & light switches and added 5 new LED lights for more lighting in their livingroom.

Wanna talk about a transformation? This bathroom turned out beautiful! These homeowners bought their house and never got to use this bathroom for years. They now have a bigger shower stall that's fully functional, more lighting and NO MORE TURQUOISE TILE.

This green carpet served its purpose for 25 years and needed a lovely touch from Hansel Construction. The Mabius's are awesome clients and we're extremely happy that they chose us to come in to tackle this floor remodel.

This room renovation started 2 years ago with replacing the carpet with new LVP flooring. Now this room got completely repainted..the ceiling, walls, and trim (homeowner's painted the doors). The ceiling fan, receptacles and light switches also got replaced to make this room look like new. We love doing work for these homeowners!
