Happy Monday everyone ✨
This week, we want to talk about Men’s Mental Health and how it is usually overlooked in our society. There are a lot of negative statistics surrounding men’s mental health due to that overlook and this week, want to not only shed some light on it but also talk about how to continue acknowledging the topic as we continue.
Happy Wednesday everyone!
Thanks for being so patient and amazing! We love constantly creating content for our community but due to upcoming projects, we will need to take a hiatus this week.
Keep your eyes peeled for all our upcoming opportunities and projects next week and make sure to take some time off for your own mental health as well!

Happy Sunday everyone! ✨
To finish off our week, we wanted to make a strong statement.
Strong Statement Alert: Unhealed wounds from our childhood will always (I mean like...98% chance 😏) show up in our romantic relationships as adults. As a relationship becomes increasingly serious and relies on our vulnerability and connection...the unhealed parts of ourselves that developed through childhood trauma and, of course, other significant experiences gets triggered.
Here are some common ways that unhealed trauma can show up!
Happy Thursday everyone! ✨
Let’s start off by saying, no judgement here. Chances are you have engaged in at least one of these tendencies/behaviors at some point or another in a past or current relationship.
✨The important thing is to understand WHY...especially if at the root of it..it's because you don't feel emotionally safe with your partners, friends or family members.
Emotional safety in the context of a relationship is when we feel we can express ourselves and be vulnerable with our partner without judgement, shame or backlash. We trust the other person with our emotional wellbeing and vice versa.
So if you find yourself engaging in any of the behaviors listed... there's a good chance there needs to be more emotional safety in your relationship.
✨If your relationship is lacking emotional safety, take a moment and try and identify possible reasons... Is it due to individual or relational past trauma? Unhealthy coping skills? Betrayal? Codependency? Abuse? Low self-worth or low self-esteem?
🙌🏽Awareness is the first step...otherwise we will repeat what we don't repair.
Happy Tuesday everyone! ✨
This week, we wanted to finish off our series by talking about healthy relationships, what they are and what they look like. The information we are going to talk about includes not only romantic relationships, but friendship, family relationships and more.
Today, we will start off by describing what a healthy relationship looks like as well 5 top skills for a healthy relationship.
Happy Friday everyone! ✨
To end our week, we wanted to share this amazing quote from the amazing author Brenè Brown.
She has written many incredible books about mental health, trauma, healing and we highly recommend all of them.
We also wanted to leave you with a question. Ask yourself, are you choosing yourself today?
Happy Wednesday everyone! ✨

Happy Monday everyone ✨

Happy Sunday everyone ✨
We are going end off our week talking about generational trauma in different cultures with this incredible quote from Alice Walker.
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Those who benefit from your silence and pain, and who do not allow you to grow and bloom, cannot not be acknowledged as a friend or a kin.
We will definitely continue this discussion in the near future, and show how many other things can tie into the generational trauma felt by different communities and cultures.
Happy Thursday everyone! ✨
As we continue to look at what generational trauma looks like in different cultures, we are able to identify and examine the symptoms that come along with it.
When the culture in the home is radically different to the dominant culture, there can a lot of confusion about beliefs and ideas to subscribe to. This can create a duality in the self – one identity in the home, one identity in the outside world – and possibly a different sense of self in moments of safety.
In this instance necessity breeds parentification – if our parents spoke a different language, we can end up as defacto translators, we look after younger siblings, contribute to house in terms of labour and finances.
The epigentics of trauma and stress are a fascinating new(er) field of study. Epi means above, and genetics are our genome. This means our genes express according to the environment. If the environment is one of stress, our gene expression reflects that. Our epigenetic expression is passed onto our children.
These symptoms are not the only signs of generational trauma in our culture and communities. There are many more that we will touch on as we continue this week.
Happy Tuesday everyone ✨
This week, we want to talk about generational trauma again but this time applied. We want to shed light on what generational trauma can look like in many different cultures as well as how they started and how to work on slowly healing from it now.
This might be a bit of a sensitive topic for many because as we go on, we will talk about how many of the cultural norms in different communities that were originally started as survival techniques and behavior to protect those people in those communities against the direct trauma they were experiencing to the time (such as war experiences, dangerous immigration, racial injustices) have become behaviors and techniques now instilled in newer generations (who are fortunate enough to not have to experience those direct traumas) as the norm and the requirements therefore creating a different form of trauma for them.
This is an interesting topic that will hopefully lead to more honest and peaceful conversations about healing and thriving.
Happy Saturday everyone ✨
As we wrap up our conversation about Complex PTSD this week, we wanted to share a quote regarding trauma.
Trauma, regardless of which kind does more than just damage a person’s brain and mind but also, their physical body and how their hormones and chemicals work. It goes deeper than many people consider.
With that being said, that is why we are also adding an incredible book recommendation from which our quote today came from.
The book,
The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind and Body in the healing of trauma by Bessel Van Dee Kolk M.D is such an incredible book and a definite must read for everyone, not only people who are working on healing through trauma.
We strongly recommend adding it to your reading list this year and comment down below other great books regarding trauma healing and complex ptsd.
Happy Monday everyone! ✨
This week, we are going to start off by talking about CPTSD or complex PTSD.
Complex PTSD is a trauma disorder in which many people don’t actually know or talk about. It has a lot of similarities to PTSD, especially in symptomatology but there are also very distinct differences.
Keep your eyes out for more information about CPTSD as we continue this week.
Today, we are just going to define what it is, what causes it and what it can look like in individuals.
