We are thrilled to feature ALC's own Tokeya Waci U Richardson for a spotlight gallery exhibit and artist talk this Friday 12PM-3PM with authentic frybread provided by Peaches' Frybread
Richardson creates Native American Ledger Art, looking back to it's original use of communication, "a quick way to tell a story or show a vision/dream". In using old documents and animal hides to hold his artwork he pays homage to how this art came to be. "Back when tribes found paper, they knew what it was for and didn't care... just if it did what they knew it could do, which is be drawn on."
Please join us to appreciate the power of his artwork, his story, and to celebrate the beauty of Native American Heritage.
