Adding your location to your reel can help extend its reach and, more importantly, reach more users nearby.
This is especially beneficial if you serve a specific area.

Out of all of the considerations when editing videos- this is one of the most impactful ones (in my opinion). Your chosen music will set the video's tone more than the clips you use.
Some things to consider: Do you want to utilize trending audio in TikTok or Reels? Or are you going to use royalty-free music from an online library? This has been on my mind lately after some music catalogs were removed from TikTok, resulting in audio being removed from previously uploaded videos.
There are benefits to each: trending audio could improve the reach of your video-but there is always the possibility of a licensing issue arising in the future.
What are your thoughts on trending audio vs. royalty-free music?
I can’t wait for everyone to see it!! 👏🏼

Thinking about starting a podcast or looking to outsource your editing? Schedule a call today!
There is so much you could do when editing a podcast.
You could keep things simple: EQ the audio files, sync them to the video files, and cut excess pauses and sidetracked convos your client has requested be removed.
OR you could add more: an intro, an outro, graphics with info about the guest while the host introduces them, B-roll about the subjects being discussed. You could make the video podcast intricate and engaging, treating it like a talk show on daytime television.
Those are my favorite podcasts to edit. I love adding more clips and cropping so that viewers get a lot of engaging visual elements.
You could also take the finished podcast edit and create short-form video edits to promote the podcast episode across social media. (those are a lot of fun too!)
My packages vary because I want to give my clients the best edit possible- while staying within their budget.
If you made it this far, tell me your favorite podcasts in the comments! I'm looking for more to listen to(and watch😉)!
“L” is for the way you Like this post. “O” is for the Only Frankie Primos. “V” is Very Very Brunch-traordinary. “E” is Even more than Galentines that you adore. 🌹💗 Do I get a point for trying?
It's important to decide on orientation at the beginning of the editing process. It's not necessarily as simple as vertical or horizontal.
There are a lot of things to consider when deciding on orientation:
Is the video short form or long form? What is the goal of the video? Do you have a target audience? Who are they? What social media platform are they going to be on? What type of videos perform best on that social media platform?
These things will help you determine what orientation and editing style will work best.
For example, when editing a video podcast: You'll likely stick to horizontal orientation when editing the podcast episode, but edit some short-form videos in vertical orientation to promote the podcast episode across social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Sparking interest in the first few seconds is crucial for short-form video editing for social media.
Attention spans are short and your audience may be fast to scroll if you don't give them a reason to stay and watch your video.
A trick I've seen is starting a video with a clip from "in media res," or the middle of the action. Have you ever seen a post with a pivotal, high-energy moment from the middle of the story shown at the beginning of the video? This is a tactic to grab your attention before going back to the beginning of the story.
Another hack is to include a caption that encourages people to watch the whole video. Like "You'll never believe what happens at the end!" Or "The last part is hilarious!" Or even just a "What for it..."
There are countless others, what tricks do you use to encourage your audience to watch your videos to the end?
I love editing in the B-Roll. It just adds an extra layer, both literally and figuratively.
There are a few tricks that I apply when editing in B-Roll. Of course, if you're editing an interview and the subject mentions the house they grew up in, you'll use a shot of their hometown/their childhood home.
I also like to use B-Roll to maintain the audience's attention- staying on the main clip of the subject too long can cause a loss of interest, so I establish and maintain a flow of cutting to other clips every so often.
Theres also times when I'm cutting together two separate sections of an interview and maybe the clips don't flow together well. Theres a few things you could do in that situation: cut to b-roll while the clips transition, or crop one of the clips for a closeup of the subject, so it doesn't look like two separate clips.
I recently had a conversation with someone who was talking about creating a video for their business. They wanted to talk directly to their audience, but they were struggling with getting through their dialogue without messing up or checking their notes. I suggested recording her speech in sections, a few sentences at a time- whatever she was comfortable with. While transitioning between all of the clips, she could add b-roll over parts that she thought looked awkward. This B-roll could be photos of her or her business, or even screenrecordings of her website.
Do you have any B-Roll hacks?
