A recent merger between amusement park giants Cedar Fair & Six Flags has sparked speculation about the potential for the construction of a major amusement park in Indianapolis.

While the merger ensures that existing parks like Cedar Point & Six Flags will retain their names and individual branding, it opens the door for new possibilities in the amusement park landscape. As Six Flags Entertainment Corporation looks to expand its portfolio and enhance guest experiences, the question arises: Could Indianapolis be a prime location for a new major amusement park?

The 2024 Growing Community Practitioner Program applications are closed. However, by the Grow Getters program is still open. It's an 8-month volunteer and training program that will teach participants to garden and farm in and with community. Participants will experience 8 months of a growing season, learning through interactive classroom lessons, guest experts, field trips, and hands-on farm and market work. Participants have opportunities to explore Indianapolis food and farm systems, communities and build their network.

Volunteer Grow Getters are asked to commit an average of 12 hours per month from April - December to earn an Urban Growers Certification from GPI. Please ensure that you are able to fulfill this commitment before applying to the program.
