Did you here there are changes coming to medical collections?
👍 The good news is that effective the end of March 2023 any medical collection debt under $500 will no longer be listed on your credit report. This is great for minimizing impact to your credit score when unexpected medical bills come in.
👎 The bad news- it is important to keep in mind that just because the charge is not listed on your credit report does not mean that you do not owe it. Collection agencies will still have the ability to sue you to collect your balance, and will tack on as many additional fees as they can in the process.
Make sure you're paying those small medical bills off as soon as you can!
I think we have all fallen victim to a tempting free trial or promotional offer and signed up for something we didn't really need. We swore to ourselves that we'll remember to go in and cancel it before we got charged.....did you remember to do that?
Make sure you take 5 minutes every couple months to log into your app store/amazon/bank accounts and verify what subscriptions you have set up and cancel any you don't use or need. Those $5+ charges here and there can really add up quickly and could be going toward paying off your debt or saving for that vacation you've been wanting to take instead.
