Inflation Reduction Act HUD funding being provided to CHDC for the installation of energy efficiency upgrades in Pullman Point multifamily affordable housing in the amount of $15.9 million!

I believe Richmond deserves a future where every dollar is used wisely! In my time on the council, I’ve worked hard to ensure our city saves an estimated $84 million over the next 12 years by getting rid of predatory loans—money that will now go directly toward building a stronger, healthier community. By making Chevron pay $550 million more in taxes and increasing city revenue by taxing the largest corporations at a higher rate, we’re making real progress.

Let’s keep moving Richmond forward! I hope to earn your vote for re-election to Richmond City Council in 2024 so we can continue this important work together. 🌟

I do not accept donations from corporations or business interests for my campaign. Richmond has a dark history where corporations-especially Chevron-have held too much influence in our local politics. We’ve seen the devastating impacts of prioritizing corporate profits over the wellbeing of our families, our climate, and our democracy.
Now more than ever, we need to put people and the planet first. We must fight for a future where our community’s health and safety take priority over the fossil fuel industry’s profits.

I am proud that Richmond has become safer during my term, and I am determined to continue this progress because even one homicide or assault is too many. Many of our neighbors and loved ones have experienced the trauma of losing someone to violence. I too have lost a loved one to gun violence, so I take this extremely seriously. Recently violent crime rates have been declining in Richmond even though we have a smaller police force. True safety is about much more than policing. It takes dealing with the conditions that make people turn to domestic violence, the underground economy, untreated mental health conditions, and other situations that foster violence.
