Oceans Away

I just posted a new event coming up for Fall. I now live in Nebraska and nowhere near the ocean anymore so I am now coming up with new painting courses. My next one is of a fall fun Pumpkin. I posted the event from my personal page. I will share more as I go. Here’s my cute pumpkin in three styles.

Updated both paintings with more touches to certain areas. The ocean one, I added better waves and deeper colors in the water. With the palm tree one, I took the sun ray off because it was from my phone and not a natural ray from sun.

I’ve been missing Okinawa so so so much these days. I am wanting to put my feet in the sand and listen to the waves. I miss those beautiful sunsets through the palm trees and the weather.
I started working on a painting this evening and it is inspired from a picture I took in Okinawa near the sea wall at a park called Baba Park near Sunabe Beach. First one is my painting which needs more work making the colors pop but it’s a start. Second picture is the actual picture taken with my phone.

It’s been such a long time my dear artist friends. I moved to Nebraska a year and a half ago and this is my first post since moving. A lot has happened in that short time. We moved from our tropical paradise of Okinawa to Nebraska. My mother was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Brian cancer and she died a year later so just November since she passed away. 😢 I am so blessed to have been here to spend time with her though.

I am a Para and an art teacher at a private Christian school. Here is my latest piece that I’ve been working on and teaching to my high school students. I haven’t added any thing on top yet to make it shine. I bet you can tell that I’m missing the ocean 🌊

Very last private painting class on Okinawa Island with my amazing neighbor, Sarah Hirsch Wheeler. She did a very good job on her sunset painting. Here I am applying resin and sand and shells with my gas mask on. I will miss Okinawa so very much

Just finished two more painting classes with 5 students and they turned out beautiful!! The thunderstorm is the one I did. The rest are all my wonderful students art. That’s pretty much a wrap for painting classes with the exception of my neighbor. We are packing up soon and it will be sad to take down my art room and say goodbye to Okinawa.

Oceans Away has about one month left on this beautiful Island. I am so sad to say goodbye. I will be making a few more items but not taking any more customer orders. As I use up the rest of my epoxy resin product, I will be posting items for sale. Get them while you can.

uPDATE: both pieces sold!! Hello friends. These two pieces are for sale. They are hand painted and then I add real Okinawa sand and shells plus Epoxy Resin over top of it to add a high glossy shine. This ocean resin clock is for sale. Customize it to say whatever you want. Glass clock with a hanger in back of it. Made with real Okinawan sand, shells, and seaglass.

Last weeks Painting class with tropical sunsets are finally completed with resin, sand, shells, seaglass and a small wave near the shore. They turned out so pretty.

Made this customers custom order for a going away gift. Has sand from Iwojima and a nice wave.

I finished this pretty noodle board stove top cover for a customer. I don’t make the actual wood boards but I finish them with the resin ocean scene upon request.
