We were with ULI New Mexico today talking about how we can solve housing challenges at the Lea County Housing Summit.
This week we were joined by New Mexico Public Education Department Secretary for Public Education Department, Dr. Arsenio Romero as part of our Lea County Schools leadership training as we continue to improve literacy levels in Lea County. We were grateful to have Hobbs Municipal Schools, Lovington Municipal Schools, Eunice High School, Tatum Municipal Schools, and Jal Schools! Together, we can make a difference for our students!

Building a healthy community is at the foundation of our work. That's why we are excited to be working with Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine to bring a Graduate Medical Education (GME) residency program to Nor-Lea Hospital District and Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital. Project Feeding Families and Summer are almost to an end, so we decided to go BIG for our finale 🥳

As our downtown 🌳🛝🏫 revitalization project hits full swing we knew we’d need someone immersed in our community to work with partners and community members to move it forward. We are excited to be working with Lorena Chavarria to help make Downtown Hobbs a vibrant and attractive place for residents and visitors. 🎉

This year we expanded our Maddox Leadership Institute program and recruited alumni to participate in a second round, deepening their leadership skills even further. We had the pleasure of graduating their cohort this week and we are so proud of the work this group has accomplished throughout the program. We can't wait to see how they give back to the community for years to come. Thank you to all of the participants and other community leaders who made it such a successful year!
We love showing off assets in Lea County like Southern Heights Elementary School and CTECH Career and Technical Education Center Hobbs to other organizations across New Mexico. Thanks to Thornburg Foundation, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation, and Groundworks New Mexico for joining us today to see what great examples we have in Lea County for other communities.
