Team Sonoma Creamery
4-Person team participating in the 2022 Race Across America (RAAM), June 18-25. Follow our adventure! John Crean // Uli Muench // Eric Gomez // Chris Jackson
We are 4 cyclists and a strong group of crew members determined to cover 3,000+ miles from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD in 8 days or less.
what a story!
RAAM 2022 is behind us and Team Sonoma Creamery could not be more pleased with the results. Thirteen of us converged on Oceanside having never met in person for most of us. After several days of prep and bonding we embarked on the worlds toughest bike race. After just over seven and a half days of racing we finished in first place for our category. While first place was not a primary goal the opportunity was seized in a manner ensuring we maintained our primary goal of finishing safely! The result is a testament to each and every person of our team and supporters!
Next stop Annapolis!
Night shift through Virginia. A beautiful night. On State Highway 50, sharing the road with some big tractor trailors.
About 350 miles to Annapolis!

12:35 am. We just entered Indiana. Now we have one less thing to worry about: maintaining local and race (EDT) time zones.
John and Uli are riding the night shift. Wind died down, a comfortable 68 F, amazing night sky. Race Across AmericaLeague of American BicyclistsXeevaSonoma CreameryLowlands Cycling

The team made it to the State of Missouri. Why is it called the "Show-Me"? The slogan is used on Missouri license plates.
Anyway. Temps cooled down from the humid high 80s during the afternoon to much more comfortable 80s. We almost got lost in the cool downtown of Fort Scott…

Greetings from Yates Center, Kansas. Day 5 of thr 2022 Race Across America.
Chris and Eric are on the road in the blistering heat, fighting nasty crosswinds on their afternoon shift.
John Crean and Uli Muench are preparing for their evening shift towards Weaubleau, Missouri. 125 miles straight on US 54 East.
Given the cross- and headwinds it will be a lot of work, rather than a ‘Sunset Cruise’.

On Thursday night, Chris Jackson and Uli Muench climbed up the highest point of the Race Across America; the Wolf Creek pass, where temperatures where in the 40s.
