This is a sad case. Communication is vital. Nurse anesthetist bring a unique expertise and level of safety to your office. Does your office operating room or procedure room need safety training? Can the procedures you’re doing in your office be performed safer?? Outpatient surgery allows a person to return home on the same day that a surgical procedure/treatment is performed. Outpatient surgery is also referred to as ambulatory surgery or same-day surgery. Outpatient surgery eliminates inpatient hospital admission, reduces the amount of medication prescribed and overall decreases healthcare cost to the patient. Same day surgery is incredibly flexible and convenient for the patient and uses a doctor's time more efficiently.

I wanted to obtain the current terminal degree for CRNAs and do it for self-improvement and professional growth. I enjoyed meeting the entry-to practice students and engaging in assignments and discussions with them. I also was motivated with some class assignments to institute programs and changes within my own practice. I have enjoyed applying deeper thinking and current literature to modern practice issues and my own practice concerns. The program has reignited my enthusiasm and passion for my profession and practice.
My doctoral project was creating a podcast, “Considerations for Emergency Airway Training in the Office-Based Surgical Setting.” It is completely relevant to my current independent practice and something that could be immediately implemented and expanded upon.
I am proud of my DNAP degree as an independent CRNA and business owner. I want my patients and colleagues to know I am committed to advancing my knowledge and seek to remain current and progressive with my anesthesia practice. I hope to expand upon my DNAP project in the future to include other podcasts for independent practicing CRNAs.
