I love weddings!
It’s especially fun to get to help create the perfect fit for a bride.
Here I needed to take in the hips of this fit & flare gown. First step, remove the lace appliqué….take in…then the final step is to put it back on. She’s gonna be beautiful!

This prom dress hem (new from the store) is all over the place lengthwise. It’s nearly 1”shorter at its shortest point vs the longest point. In the end it doesn’t matter because the client needs quite a bit cut off for a hem. But the amount of hem at any given point is pretty variable. She will be perfect and this hemline will be fabulous when I’m finished with it!
Prom is just around the corner. I have limited availability for prom alterations. Don’t be caught with an ill-fitting dress! Contact me today to get your alterations scheduled!
We’re only five days in, and I have no appointments left available for the month of August. Thank you for continuing to trust me with your fitting needs!
Can you believe we are to the end of July already? This summer has flown by. Thank you all for keeping me busy and trusting me with your fitting needs.
With our home gearing up to get back to our normal school schedule, my time for appointments will once again become much more limited.
I will still be taking appointments, but on a very limited scale.
If you will be needing work done, plan ahead!
Did you know that most clothing alterations have a turnaround time of 3-4 weeks? Even though the temperatures aren’t reflecting the season, I’m so happy to be getting out a few 🎄 items. I just finished this quilt to add to the Christmas cheer throughout our house! I love that it isn’t overly Christmas and can be used all winter long 💜 When do you start getting out Christmas cheer?
When you want to add a personal touch to your special dress… this bride will be very happy.
Wedding dresses, linen pants, and mending ripped out denim are just a few of the items I’ve worked in this week.
I have been quilting for about 13 years. I’m all the quilts I’ve made this one is perhaps the most nearly-perfect piecimg I have ever done! This is the last row being pinned up, and every row has gone together like this.
Pinch me it isn’t real! Look at that corner 😍 all points and sashing lined up, and I just can’t believe how squared up it is already. Practice and precision in cutting and stitching are the ticket!
I’m feeling totally RAD over here. This 80s Prom-themed dress is ready for a good time and someone’s big hair 💃🏻 This simple modern dress came to me with high hopes and reminiscing of Pretty in Pink. I put my own 80s vision of shoulder pads, ruffles, big bows, and ill placed appliqués. Voila! I hope she dances the night away tomorrow.
Ruffles for days on my classic beauty.
Precision matters. Today I am working on a prom dress. This dress was purchased used (not a problem), but the markings from the hem weren’t matching. I laid it out on my table where I matched up all the seams. Here you can see there were great fluctuations in the hem length around the skirt with the greatest difference being an entire inch. Hemming shouldn’t look like this. Don’t worry, I will hem correctly for this lovely lady!
No client projects today, so I’m going to work on a fun family project. Happy Saturday!
One happy customer will pick up their newly tailored jeans tomorrow.
Tiny piecing… it’s amazing how the pieces for this mini quilt are so small, yet they take so much time to work with.
For reference, the smallest pieces mensures less than 1” square before sewing.
I’m getting ready for QuiltCon and will be out of the studio 2/15-2/20. If you are needing alterations, contact me for an appointment before then. 636.262.1463
This zipper matches, but you’ll not see it because it’s going to be hidden. 🥸
On the sewing table today is this pretty champagne cheetah print. 😍
