This was a pivotal milestone along my own personal healing journey that I would like to share with you.

8 years ago, I made a decision that would change my life forever. I enrolled my 8 year old son in Kenpo Karate at Quest Academy of Martial Arts Colorado and was introduced to their women's self defense course.

After attending a couple of these workshops, I was invited to check out Kamishin Ryu Jujitsu and quickly found myself in love with it. I wanted to learn more and my instructor, offered me what I thought was extra practice only to learn she was introducing me to Alemany Kenpo. I joked she sucked me into it, but I truly did enjoy it and got hooked. πŸ€™

The confidence, empowerment and strength I gained from each class helped me to overcome my fears and take control of my life.

I won't sugarcoat it-the road wasn't easy. There were tears, frustrations and many times I wanted to give up and quit. But the healing, growth and transformation I was receiving kept me coming back every week.

In September 2020, I earned my Shodan in Jujitsu and last Saturday, May 6th, I completed and passed the long and intense test to earn my Shodan in Kenpo. πŸ₯‹

Every muscle in my body ached after but it was one of those hurt so good feelings. Those sore muscles weren't from the adrenaline of a long night of arguing and being abused...it was because I took my power back and said I will NEVER be anyone's fu***ng victim again πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

There are not enough words to say how extremely grateful I am to have these amazing souls in my life and so proud to have their love and support along the way πŸ€™

While I started my training to learn how to defend myself against my ex-husband and other predators...to protect myself and my family; I now train because it's a part of my life, a part of who I am.

It's a necessary part of my healing journey and it keeps me focused on my continued growth in confidence and strength for my mind, body and soul.

I'm sharing my story with you today in hopes that it will inspire and empower you to take control of your life and reclaim your power. It's never too late to start your healing journey.

I am a mother of 4 young men & a grandmother. I am a wife, an entrepreneur, & someone that is passionate about helping others rise up from the ashes of abuse. I am passionate about this because I have been there. I was s*xually abused as a child by a trusted uncle, physically & emotionally abused by my father, & grew up to endure many years of all these abuses at the hands of my ex-husband. I drew the line when the abuse trickled down to my children. Leaving was just the first step to being my healing journey from these traumas. My friend, Mythica, introduced me to sigils. What I love about sigils is they are simple designs that can represent any word or phrase. So my t-shirts are empowering & uplifting words & phrases that you can wear whenever you need to be reminded of how strong, how amazing & how powerful you are! What better way to remind yourself that you aren’t a survivor, but a thriver!

Here’s my favorite part about Empower Tees! I understand how hard it is to leave abusive situations & I know that there are many that don’t have the choice to leave & rely on organizations that specialize in rescue operations. These operations & non-profits require money & heavily rely on fundraising & donations from the public to continue making a huge impact for abuse survivors! This is why I have decided that 20% of every sale will be donated to Operation Underground Railroad and Alternatives to Violence.
